    US- Bridesmaids pay

UK (and other Europe)- Brides pay

(That's the reason when you Google you get different results)

Obviously you can buy their dresses if you want (Mine isn't buying hers)

I'm learning it's a regional thing. In the US, it's typical for the bms to pay for their own, but it's not unheard of if the bride is well off to offer to pay for it.

In the US it's traditional for the bridesmaids to pay for their own, but I would never turn down the offer for a bride to pay if she wanted Smiley smile

In the UK for example I think it's traditional that the bride pay.

If your bridesmaids are paying, it's smart to discuss budget up front including accessories so that everyone is on the same page!

My cousin offered to buy my daughters' flower girl dresses. She did not pay for the BM dresses.

My sister bought her MOH gown for my wedding.

Yep, in the US it's traditional for the BMs to buy their own dresses.

But, it's important to make all expectations clear upfront, and be considerate to your friends and family. Since the dress we ended up choosing was over the original budget I discussed with them, I offered to pay the difference.

I paid for my bridesmaid dress for one wedding, the bride and her mother bought mine in another, it really depends on the person BUT I think it is usually pretty standard for the BM to buy her own dress. Unless you either offer or know you are asking someone who can't really afford to be in it. Like the girls I am asking, I KNOW I will be paying for one of them but I want her in it Smiley winking

My BMs are paying for their own, but I've offered to help if they need it, especially since we are all traveling to the wedding location.

I'm definitely picking up their jewelry though.

I paid for their dresses as part of their gift for being in the wedding. I would have ended up spending the same amount on a gift they probably wouldn't want and it made it easier to ensure the dresses were ordered on time.

Mine paid for their own. I offered to pay for hair, shoes, jewelry...but my sister (MOH) has declined letting me, and I paid for my other BM's shoes.

Mostly bridesmaids pay, but I do know of some brides that offered to buy the dresses. One wedding I was a bridesmaid at, the groom paid for them (she was young just out of high school and he had money).

I'm paying for the shoes, because I don't want them to spend too much money but they're definitely buying the dresses.

Hey state twin Smiley winking My FH is actually traveling to your city right now for the weekend for some duck hunting with the guys *rolls eyes* lol

Yes the BM's pay. My BM's are paying for their dresses & boots. As for their dresses I am picking the designer, color, & material & from there it is in their hands. If they want to spend $50-$500 the choice is theirs.

I plan to pay for their hair, jewelry, & MU.

My bridesmaids are paying. I told them to pick out a black knee length dress, I did this because every girl needs a little black dress. I wanted them to be able to wear it again so the money isn't a waste. I am buying their jewelry as their gift.
