do bridesmaids pay for their own dresses?

I paid for theirs. I am the oddball out, I guess. My fiance is paying to rent the tuxes for the men, also

I paid an amount so they would all be at the same price point. Each of my girls picked different dresses, that was how I thought it would be fair. it was only like $25 max on a dress so nothing too crazy

Here in Australia (At least where I am from) the bridesmaids usually pay however because my wedding will be overseas because of my FI being American I am going to pay as plane tickets for them are expensive enough as it is

I am paying for my bridesmaids dresses. I am asking them to be in my wedding so I think its fair. Honestly if I can afford a wedding, I can afford to pay for their dresses.
