DMV Area Affordable Photographer Recommendations?

I'm looking at a possible photographer my sister knows who is new to the area and has a good eye. I hoped she would be a good deal, but I'm not sure. Her most basic package is $1100 for 4 hours and a CD of high res 100 images (not enough). The next two I'm considering are $1700 for 6 hours and a CD of 200 images that are also uploaded online, and $2100 for 8 hours, 350 images on CD and uploaded and some prints. I'm not interested in extras like e-sessions or albums anyway. For comparison, does anyone else know good and affordable photographers in the DC area? I'm in Alexandria. There are a lot of photographers in the area, but it's hard to sort through them and review the ones that are good but affordable and don't charge $3000 plus for basic packages.

I'm using Amanda Gilley with AKG Photography. Jaemi used her and her photos are gorgeous, at least two other brides here are scheduled to use her this year.

She is super sweet and very affordable! I think we are paying $750 for all day, unlimited coverage and all rights to reprint and on DVD. Plus an album with however many pics

My son used L Hewitt Photography, whose rates start at $2,400. The preview photos are absolutely gorgeous!

Umm me? ha ha You're just at the end of the off season, so you might be able to get a discount. I will say that the packages you're being offered is kind of strange. I don't get into the whole you get this many images, etc. You get what I got!

We're using http://torrephotography.com/ He was the most reasonable with great reviews that we could find. It's a bonus that he lives right around the corner from us & our engagement photo session=free We just did the basic $800 package & will buy albums a little later after the wedding & vacation.

I used Girard Images. They're a husband-wife team, and I found out about them because the wife works with one of my BMs. Sample photo attached. We just had them come for the ceremony and a few portraits afterwards, which I think came out to about $300.

I used Amy @ Forever in A Flash Photography. She was great, she lives in Baltimore, MD and she will work with all prices. I receievd over 1000 pictures edited! Love her
