dj for small wedding

Kelsey, on July 30, 2022 at 2:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

We are having a small wedding for my daughter at our home. We are not sure what to do about music I don't want to hire a DJ since there is only going to be about 40 people. Any suggestions?

We did a playlist - but our venue had a sound system we could use. You may discover that renting a sound system is similarly priced to a DJ, in which case, you may as well get the DJ.

We are having a small wedding and definitely having a DJ so we don't have to worry about anything. Ours is giving us our sound system, and mic'ing us up for the ceremony. I don't think you can go wrong with a DJ!

One thing to think about is your neighbors and your neighborhood, you don't want people making noise complaints because the DJ is too loud. I d probably just set up a nice speaker and a playlist . Where will the wedding be taken place in the backyard, insides, in a tent etc?

In our backyard. We wouldn’t need the music to be too loud.

Do you plan on having a full evening of dancing or just music playing in the background and maybe special dances? I think you could probably be fine without a dj, I do think if you have neighbors nearby a dj can easily get too loud. Best of luck to you I hope your daughter has the best day!

I don't think you need a dj I think you can put together a fun playlist and if you don't already have one get a bluetooth speaker for outside. What's nice about that is the speaker is yours then so you can use over and over. We got these on amazon this summer for backyard bbq and they have been fun to have. It was like 150 for 2 speakers but there are so many different kinds at various price points

I think a playlist and Bluetooth speakers would suffice. One suggestion though, if you're planning to use Spotify or anything that normally plays ads, spring for whatever ad-free option the service has. You don't want to announce the first dance is coming just to have to sit through an ad for the grocery store first lol.

An iPod playlist and a solid sound system should work just fine.
