Are any of you planning baking your own wedding cake? I’m definitely not a baker, but I’m thinking if I keep is simple, I could pull it off. The photo below would be my inspiration. We’re only having about 70 guests, so I don’t want to spend the money on a fancy cake.

There is a post on here about someone doing a diy wedding cake. Hey if you're a good baker, power to ya ! Wedding cakes are legit expensive :/ maybe something you can also consider if you're strapped on time is buying a plain store bought cake and decorating it to your choosing.

That idea is genius! I could just buy a plain cake with white frosting and then stick the flowers onto it. Thank you so much!

I absolutely LOVE to bake, so, since we're only planning a small one-tier cake for the cutting ceremony (like the one pictured above), I have been thinking a lot about making it myself. I can even do it several days in advance, and just freeze it until the day of the wedding. I just can't see spending a bunch of money on such a small cake when I can do it myself for less than $5. Even if that plan doesn't work out, I have a couple of different friends who are also avid bakers, and have already offered to take care of it for me at no charge!! So, I'm covered. The cake above would not be hard to recreate. It's just edible flowers stuck onto a white-frosted cake. You could do that!
