I was completely against buffet when we started planning & was convinced buffet was way to go after speaking with the venue. At our venue if we did sit down & say had 150 chickens & 150 beefs, that is all that would be provided so if somone decided didn't like what they originally picked would be out of luck. The buffet option will have 300 of both so guests would actually be able to have both if prefer. We are doing a chef carved sirloin for the beef to class it up a little. The other reason I was convinced was because I would have to let the caterer know where all the "beefs" & "chickens" would be seating so a lot more work when doing seating chart. Good luck with your decision!!

Im doing buffet style, we wanted our guests to have more options. We have the meat lovers, the vegan and the picky people so a buffet made more sense to us. The country club has an awesome staff and Ive been there as a guest and they make sure the buffet line moves quickly and they have staff serving the guests.

I did find it kind of funny that the buffet was more expensive than seating dinner hehe.

As of right now, we are leaning towards a buffet. Could change, but that's just what we are leaning towards right now.

We haven't decided on what we are serving yet. We both LOVE chinese so that is on the top of our list right now. We'll have different entrees - bourbon chicken, beef & broc, sesame chicken, spicy garlic pork, etc to pick from. Spring rolls and/or pork rolls. Fried rice and Lo Mein Noodles. Crab Ragoon, etc. Stuff like that. Other options we are also considering is BBQ food with all the sides that go with that baked beans, potatoe salad, corn, etc. Um another favorite of mine is Chicken Marsala. I love this at Olive Garden so I can only imagine how yummy it is going to taste from a caterer. Also considering a mexican buffet - like the chinese one, but with tacos, fajitas, etc and all the fixings.

Whatever we decide though, it's going to be very yummy and our guests will be very full lol.

We are doing a full sit down dinner... and during the cocktail hour there will be lots of food too... if anyone leaves our wedding hungry it's their own damn fault!

Sit down. i'd rather a buffet style because the menu for the buffet look better but this is cheaper. everyone i know finds the sit down dinner very strange.

Sit down dinner with three different options. Also will have a social hour before dinner that will include some passed hor dourves (spell??!) and a few stations.

We originally wanted to do a buffet but a sit down "plated" dinner was cheaper so that is what we are doing. It's pretty bad when the platted dinner is $67 a person and still much cheaper than the buffet option. Both have their ups and downs. If you do a platted dinner there are no lines but a buffet dinner is easier to plan cause you don't have to figure out how many of which dish and who that particular dish belongs to. Either way your guests will be happy with whatever you pick.

As much as I love the sit down and how formal it is, Im doing the buffet mainly because my venue doesnt do sit down but I like the many options and people get to pick and choose what they want more of less of none of, when you havde sit down you get what you get lol

We are doing sit down with 4 adult options and two kiddy options. We were going to do a buffet originally but our room can accomidate more guests without the spread of a buffet. Actually the sit down was cheaper. Like Abigail C mentioned, alot of our guests aren't used to being able to choose their entree so it's a new experience for all. I don't think one is better/worse then the other.

I think it depends on the amount of guest you have and your venue

i like sit down if its more of a formal affair as far as your venue

we are having a back yard wedding so we are doing buffet but have servers doing the buffet

We are doing a sit down dinner. I just don't feel like a buffet would be formal enough but it also depends on the wedding style and size.

Sit down dinner, we feel it is more formal and also, we do not want our guests to have to make a line to get their food. We are having 4 options, and also carving stations and passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour.

I'm doing buffet. I have a large number of guests that have allergies, a few vegitarians, vegans, lactose intollerant......my buffet selections cover all grounds. And this way there is no way to mess up their plates as they are responsible for taking what they can eat. I think in total I have 12 guests with special diatary requirments.
