Silliest mistake you've made

Mrs. Sâ„¢, on November 14, 2012 at 10:57 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 103

Fess up time, ladies and gents. What's the silliest mistake you've made during planning? One of those duh moments?

I forgot to include, well, those people we call the bride and the groom, into the guest count for the caterer.

Your turn.

    Hehehe, silly kitty.

I, along the same lines, had a bit of a miscount- I ordered Save the Dates for everyone we wanted to attend the wedding, forgetting that many of our guests live in the same house, and did not need two, or three, or more of the STD.

oh, well, live and learn- I ordered the correct number of invites after that debacle, rest assure!

I have yet to make a mistake because I have only skimmed the surface. But I am sure...tons are coming.

Both good mistakes for me to take note on though! Include Jeremy and I in caterer count, and count households not people!

    Keep em comin' ladies!

I misspelled "engagement" on our party invites. I spelled it as "engagment" I even had two people proof read it. I had to reorder, what a waste of money!

If I posted it on WW that wouldn't have happened.

    I had two.....

When planning how we were going to transform the self-described biker's residence in VT, to a wedding venue, I completely forgot that when we arrived on Thursday, a day before our guests, that our venue would be booked with other guests. This put us a day behind in the transformation process.

When I went upstairs to change into my comfy tropical dress for the evening, I was a tad tipsy and put on what I had planned on wearing to breakfast. It made sense to me then. Yep, I even grabbed my Plan B dancing shoes to match the outfit To this day I dont' understand why DH didn't come up and help me change. lolol Oh well, it is totally something I would do.

The silliest mistake I made was in planning my wedding concept around what I thought other people thought our wedding should be, instead of making the wedding a reflection of what DH and I wanted our wedding to be. Luckily, I caught myself in time. Advice here - To Thine Own Self be True.

    Amen Michele!

That is one thing we didn't do. I made that mistake the first time around and had the typical Big Fat Italian wedding, as did DH. There was no way in hell that our wedding was going to be anything but us.

Nope! I got a few laughs on the shoe choice that's it. Our friends/family figured it was just me. I dress that way on a regular day while at home. Noone knew I had a nice comfy tropical dress.

@Carole where can I get one of those tshirts?! Smiley smile

I did the same thing Jacqueline did... ordered a STD for each guest, not each HH. Whoops.

Labake....LMAO....I guess I made a third mistake. I drank far too much beer on an empty stomach. But then again, that is normal for me anyway.

I have Hayley to thank for the HH/guests count thing. I remember counting the guests and then popping into WW... Hayley was just talking about that so I avoided the miscount :-(

    @Mrs M., that's an unfortunate one :-(

I packed an over night bag... and have no idea where it ended up (I think it was in my MOH's parents car...) so I ended up going to breakfast the next day in Hubby's pjs because I wasn't putting that wedding dress back on!
