I had the same feeling when we sent out ours! LOL THe whole wedding process, it never really hit me. Then I mailed the invites and I was like "OMG, I'm getting MARRIED. MARRIED!"

Now it's like, HOLY MOLY, we're almost been married for a year!

I'm glad your'e excited- but it way too early ot send your invites- even if it's a destination wedding. You really need to wait another month.

Standard is 6-8 weeks, 8-10 weeks for a destination wedding. And you've got about 13.

Well. the reason im sending them out so early is because all of my guests are of of town & i want to give them time to take off & make their reservations. Plus, everyone is starting to wonder about all that info now so I'd much rather give ppl that extra time.

I understand, Cayla. My family will want it that early, too. Almost everyone will have to travel to my wedding,

Exactly, they do have plenty of time to rsvp...hopefully that will give me less stragglers & having to call ppl to see if they're coming. lol

@Cayla, we sent out save the dates in Feb (more than 50% of the guest are traveling 300 miles or more) and our folks are starting to inquire about invitations already too! I direct them to the web site but apparently that is not enough. So we might go a little early too.

@Edubbsgirl...i tried the website thiing & that didnt work too much...ppl physically need to see the invite...lol..but thats fine with me...im ready to get these babies sent out...lol

@Soon2bMrsHaire....yea i figured if more than 90% of guests are going to be coming from out of town, then might as well give them more time to make arrangements

I sent my invites 61 days before the wedding. So, many of our guests received the wedding with 60 days from the wedding (which is still early, but we wanted an early respond by date so we could track down the ones that don't send in the RSVP card).

Our wedding will be in FH's hometown, so all of my guests will be from out of town, and many have to make hotel reservations. I spread the info via word-of-mouth ahead of time, and sent save-the-date cards out also so they could make travel reservations with plenty of time to spare.

@Cayla - 100% of our guests are out of town as well, in fact no one who is coming or in the wedding party lives close than 5 hours away, so I understand this dilemma. Just wanted to point out what standard etiquette was to help out...

We sent out save the dates and both sets of parents have been directing people to our wedding website.

@Mrs. S To Be !...definitely understand what u were saying...i know its usually 6 weeks before wedding but definitely wanted to give enough time...especially since we didnt send out STD's...

Plus like rlg510....wanted to give early respond date & be able to track down the ones who didnt send rsvp back

That's awesome! Mine will go out around August 1 ... giving them 6 weeks but that's because 95% of our guest list are in the state we are marrying in ... if it were out here where we live now ... I'd have sent them out probably July 25ish ... or earlier ...

I'm sending mine out mid-July with a RSVP by Aug 15th. The hotel block will only hold are rooms until August 1st., so we needed to get them out so ppl could book. Almost everyone who is going will need a room, because we are getting married on Cape Cod, which is about 2 1/2 hours from our home town. I was worried this was too early as well...but it seems like many brides are sending them out earlier and earlier and ignoring that 6-8 week rule.
