Seating Charts vs Place Cards

Katie, on July 30, 2012 at 4:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Let me see yours!!!

Our venue requires us to have two sets of place cards or a seating chart and then place cards at the table. I am trying to get my creative juices flowing... Any pictures of either or both would be appreciated!

Mrs.O i love yours and have tried recreating them on my computer! I am leaning towards using that for they set that will be on the tables and the numbers in the background will be different colors to indicate food choices! What font did you use for the names?

The font for the names was Lainie Day. It is a free font that you can download online.

I really like the seating chart idea! But it really is up to you, and what you want! I dont have a picture of a seating chart, but I think they look elegant! Hope this helps!

Love these!! we are doing fall leaves/ shapes on kraft paper and they will be tucked into the fork used for the main course...this way people know where their seat is as well as what they ordered on their rsvp. Smiley smile ((we'll also have this adorable chalk board as a seating chart )

I am planning on using picture frames as escort cards and favors- two for the price of one! We are having a beach themed wedding and my picture frames have seashells and starfish on them!

They require escort cards AND place cards!!! How weird. All your guests would have 2 cards at their seat when they sit down.

I have templates for seating charts if you wanted to do that as one of your options.

Just click my profile and scroll down, I have it saved as a download.

    Katie -

My wedding projects are complete an I already have photoshop with a template that I create to match Mrs.O's. It's not dead on, but it's pretty close. If you send me your guest list and colors, I'd be happy to plug your info in there an send you the printable file.

Courtney R. - Thank you so much for the offer. My table numbers are a little out of the ordinary. Instead of the traditional numbers we are doing table years. 1987, 1988, 1994, 2000, etc. Then each table will have pictures of both FH and I in the specific year. - Im sure it would be too much to change around the template. I think i can make one for each year and send it to the printer. She will turn it into a graphic and then just input the names.

Hayley - I know it baffles me that they require both. I will definitely keep you in mind for those templates. We are really considering having a seating chart like that and them having the place cards on the tables.

I liked the seating chart idea, because I think that it looked much more clear and simple. But I am a sentimental person so I like people to be able to have something to take home, like the escort cards.

I wanted to just do a seating chart instead of spending time with the cards. Just put on a board outside the room, table 1: & who sits there. but want it obviously nice looking... how can you do that?
