Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pebble Beach drive is great for pictures, and Santa Barbara (we're getting married there - it's gorgeous!)

I've heard about the aquarium. Have you been there? I saw they do private tours on their website. And I think we'll be staying in Santa Barbara for 2 days. Anything specific for there?

Wineries! Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles. Santa Barbara also has some great ones near by if you end up stopping there.

Janelle, are there any wineries near the coast? We're planning on sticking close to hw1

I love wine, so I would love to make a few stops!

Yes Rebecca, there are wineries all down the central coast. Some might be 15 min off of hwy 1 but there are tasting rooms closer if that's too far Smiley smile I also second the Monterey Bay Aquarium...we had season passes there when I was younger so I may not be impartial.

I second Solvang. Used to hit it as a kid every few months when my parents would drive down the coast to see family. Its a beautiful little town.

I live in Monterey, the aquarium and Cannery Row are a lot of fun. The shopping and views in Carmel are amazing. 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach is pretty cool. If you like tidepooling, Point Lobos is good for that but you'll have to coordinate to get there at low tide. Have fun!

Oh yeah, and Mission Carmel is really lovely, one of the more restored missions, it's quite beautiful.

SemiSweet, I was looking at 17 mile drive as well.

Should we plan for a week or a week and a half?
