PSA: use a throw away email at David's bridal

Amanda, on September 11, 2016 at 1:47 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30

I set up an appointment at David's bridal and they had to have an email address. I gave them my normal personal address. They immediately sold it! In the 24 hours since then I have gotten 273 spam emails. Super annoying. Thought I should warn you gals!

    I wish someone would've told me this before I got my dress from there, lol.

    Sometimes those spam e-mails are pretty good though. I just got one from mary kay not too long ago. They work with David's bridal and pull out monthly winners. Getting a free session with one of their representatives tomorrow. For me and all my bride's maids.

    There are other prizes you could win also. -just saying. Might be good to know.

    @Sharon and jr. As a former Mary Kay consultant, they offer a free makeover to anyone. They want you to buy their product afterwards.

    @sharon and jr.

    I too fell for that free spa day thing, I believe that's what they called it.

    I had to do my own makeup, step by step.

    Then they gave their sales pitch and I ended up walking out of there with about $200+ worth of product that I don't even use.

    Yes I sincerely wish I had created a wedding email address! But I mostly used the one that's my name, and now that it went be my name much longer I'm planning to delete it. I only used it for stuff like that.

    Ditto @SailawaySomppi - tons of spam and vendors I don't know got my email from David's, but I get some awesome deals from shutterfly. So far I've gotten (all for free) 40 return labels, an engraved mason jar glass, and going to do a photo book. I'll gladly take the annoying spam and insistent Mary Kay reps in exchange for all that!

    I don't actually get much from their partners. Maybe one or two a week from their photo partners, wedflix, etc. Nothing terrible though.

    Thank God Mary Kay hasn't contacted me. I absolutely refuse to support a MLM seller, and I hate their products anyway.

    I wish I was getting good spam! It's super annoying because it's Jdate, match.com, erect on demand, and more such BS! I'd love photo coupons or deals from men's warehouse!

    I've only gotten a couple things of spam like shutterfly and men's warehouse. Which men's warehouse was only like 4 times but shuttefly is like once a week which I love. It's one way I was able to get my Guestbook for over half off.

    Everyone gets that free session from Mary Kay. Claiming that you won it as a monthly drawing is just a marketing gimmick.

    I get emails from vendors from out of state trying to sell me their services all the time since singing up at David's Bridal. It's so annoying. Also, I keep getting notifications that my wedding dress is ready for pick up even though I picked it up a month ago, and already told them a few times.
