PSA: use a throw away email at David's bridal

I set up an appointment at David's bridal and they had to have an email address. I gave them my normal personal address. They immediately sold it! In the 24 hours since then I have gotten 273 spam emails. Super annoying. Thought I should warn you gals!

Luckily for me Gmail is REALLY good at filtering out spam! It either all goes into a 'promotions' folder or the spam folder...i think I've maybe seen like 2-3 get past it into my regular inbox!

Mary Kay is a scam! So annoying too, if one more rep calls me and tells me I've won I might lose it on them lol!

Don't fall for the Mary Kay email! They really do offer "free spa/makeup whatever" all the time and to anyone.

Sorry for your spammed up inbox ! That can get annoying. I did give them my personal email only positive is all the deals and contests I'm entered in. & have even won! So it's not all bad. Plus when all this is over, I'm making a new email with my married name anyway!

I've never once gotten spam from vendors, only the occasional 'make registry here' promotion. Also, very helpful to make a wedding email to prevent spam from anyone, because really tons of companies sell your information, including Google. Though I do love having my wedding email on gmail, not only because of how great they are at filtering spam but also because I can save information from vendors to my Google Docs! The main reason DB takes your email and phone number is to tell you when your orders come in, but it's not surprising they'd sell some emails (and I don't always get the emails or phone calls, but I work there so I think my coworkers just wait for me to come in to tell me).
