Program paper???

Mrs. Williams, on January 25, 2013 at 10:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Hi WW! I plan on printing my own programs for the ceremony...does anyone know what type of paper is best. I notice when I do a rough draft the ink "runs".

Maybe if you use resume paper?! I'm up in the air about printing my own or making copies at staples. Let me know if you try the resume paper! Hopefully i'll be able to finalize our programs after we choose our ceremony music tomorrow!! =) Good luck!!

I would suggest using cardstock. You can find it at Michaels, Staples, even Walmart, I think. It's heavier and sturdier than printer paper.

Ok ladies I will try those suggestions. I did't want to wait a week before wedding to print invitations and they were all ruined. I believe I may print one program and get copies made at staples also! by the way Congrats to you both! Ashley only a few more months away!

I forget what company I ordered pearlized paper from, but I was able to get samples for minimal cost. I think that's pretty typical.

You can print one copy of a program on regular paper (assuming it looks good to you) and have Staples make copies onto cardstock paper.

@Reenski - that's awesome to know! Thanks for this post, I was wondering the same thing. I think I am going to use cardstock for the cover & then resume paper for the inside pages.

Yeah, and now that I think about it, I believe for both Staples and FedEx Kinkos, you can just order online, upload your document and tell them how many, size/cuts, kind of papers... and I believe it'll give you price quotes, in case you want to make sure it'll be in budget.

The office supply stores frequently have decorative papers for "bulletins" which is an 8.5 x 11 folded in half. Designs might match your theme.

I just went to Staples.com and it looks like they were going to charge1.17/sheet. I will probably buy the paper and print it myself. Thanks ladies!

You can also bring your own paper into staples and have them print on it with their machines if you want the print quality.

Just keep in mind the paper has to be laser compatible, no perforations, decorations, or embossing.

    Hello month twin!

I agree with some of the ladies above....to me it really depends on the look you are going for with your programs. Some people just say it doesnt matter where I see lots of people but so much into their programs.

Do them on Vistaprint. They are having a 50% off sale. You could get postcard type stock in a large size and write all your info. Log onto:

I used paperandmore.com. They are fantastic. A word to the wise. If you are going to use cardstock for the outside, consider taking it to a kinkos or somewhere to have it scored for folding if you are doing a booklet layout.

If you need a template, PM me with your email address. Here was the one I made. I designed it in MS Publisher. Took the file and my paper to Kinkos and they copied it and scored for folding. I added the tassle and Voilà!
