Let's see those card or advice boxes or both!

Ally, on October 22, 2015 at 10:24 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 39

What are you doing to hold cards and advice cards if you have any?

I snatched both of mine off from another bride, and I think I'll be keeping these babies!

I love those, Ally! We have no plans for this yet. I'm wondering if we need to have a card box that locks though because I have heard stories of people stealing them. I'd like to think our friends and family wouldn't...but ya never know!

Originally that was what I was thinking Chantel, but I'm having one of my little brothers direct guests with gifts/cards to their place and during cocktail hour he'll put them in our car!

Ours was from a re-sale group too! Thank god, because it is way too advanced for my crafting level.

I haven't done mine yet but I was thinking a crate for the cards and message in the bottle for advice that we will read on our 1st anny.

@Chantel - I hear it's not the guests you have to worry about really. But the vendors and such. Like the random servers moving about all night that the caterers may be using, etc. Again, I'd still like to think more of people...but that is where I hear the issue can be. Not so much family and friends.

I'm diying mine. These are my inspirations. I'm having an ombre theme wedding but I plan on adding the cascading flowers like the other picture.

Its almost done. I have to work on the bow that's going in front of the peacock feather and put a little bling around the slot.

Stacy, I was going to do something like that for the cards but I was leery about an open box. My venue was still open to the public, so while I didn't feel it was necessary to use a lock, I wanted something that was at least closed.

Here's our box. DH made it the week of the wedding- hollowed it out and put our names & the date on the front. It's now a planter on our front porch.

Here is mine.. ordered off of Etsy.

ETA: My advice box is a very simple open and close box from Michaels. It fits index sized cards. I painted it white with a silver trim. We aren't sure if we will be using it... but if some, we were told to put it near the bar, so people could write things while they wait.

Gorgeous, all of them! I thought I was going to do a tiered card box, but when I saw those chests I knew they were perfect

These are beautiful!! The card box was something I couldn't have cared less about. We went super cheap.. Feeling moderately guilty about that looking at these, but my budget is reassuring me that we're good ;-)

It worked perfect on our wedding day. But brides as someone told me after (which I never thought about), consider having a closed box so no one can grab cards and go while no one is looking.

Here's mine! I got everything on sale or with a coupon. All together it probably cost me about $20.

I do not have idea for card box yet. But I am in love what we are doing for advise/ messages. We will have a double wide wine box -- one side with a bottle of wine and one side empty for guests to leave a little note/ advise. On our first anniversary we will drink the wine and read the notes.

I love all of those but @Pinky Winter Promise I think yours is so beautiful. We have the silver one for cards and our gifts are going under the Christmas tree.
