Is it that big of a deal or am I over stressing (pic/link include)

IrishLove™, on August 28, 2014 at 5:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Hi it's me again.... get used to it! Smiley smile

I am planning a shower (next summer but I like to get stuff on sale! Smiley smile ) for my bestie... The shower theme is anchors and I got a smoking deal on anchor napkins at the Christmas tree shop... I got 100 for $3.00... they only had 1 set of anchor plates left so I passed... but on oriental trading I found these anchor plates for 2.00 a stack, but it has 1776 on it... is it that big of a deal if that is on there?

Link included to show you thanks!!

I get where you are coming from, because with the red white and blue, it's pretty patriotic, but could also read as nautical. As far as the 1776, I bet most people won't even notice it, especially since it will be obvious that anchors are the theme. It's so good of you to be so detail oriented for your bestie. I bet the shower will be great. Smiley smile

I'm not a fan, but I'm not a fan of nautical in general. So I'm not help. Sorry.

    Thanks ladies!

The whole red, white, blue doesn't brother me... her color for her wedding is Navy, and I'm going to have red as her "pop" color at the party. Just worried it would be strange (I tend to think the smallest things may be noticeable)

And thanks I tend to be OCD and what to make sure things are matchy/matchy. I think I am going to order them... I mean they are 2 dollars they won't be that much next summer!

That's ok Kylene, the only reason I am doing nautical is for a few reasons. They were engaged on a boat, they are getting married on the beach, and she has a anchor tattoo for her family who is her anchor in life.

So I thought it all tied in.

I have conflicting answers because I would buy them due to the price, but I would also continue the search for something else

The only problem with that is most places now have their fall decor out and summer is gone, I've searched Target, Walmart, CTS again, and nothing. I like the price because as much as I love my friend their plates people will throw away and I don't want to spend a ton on paper products either.

They're ok, but I'd go with something like these to not be overwhelmingly "anchors"

They are so cute! 1776 is small enough that I don't think it matters

I like it, and food will be covering the "1776", so not a big deal at all!

Also, have to say I am excited that not only is IrishLove making an appearance, but so is Angela C!!! AWESOME Smiley smile Welcome back!

Depending on how late in the summer you're putting on the shower, you may find these plates available again at Memorial Day & July 4.

    Hi Nancy!

Yes you are correct, but I was watching the price all summer (I like a good bargain) and they were priced anywhere from $4.00 - $5.00 a piece (per 8 usually) ... You can't beat 2.00 for everything... that's where I am coming from.
