In need of a DJ

Mrs. Jayjohn, on June 29, 2011 at 3:24 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 23

I'm having a party and I need a good DJ. One that really knows how to really scratch, make the records go wrecka wrecka... any recommendations? Smiley xd

They really have to know how to work the record and make everyone scream.

Do you want one that comes with up-lighting? It really sets the mood

Whatever you do, make sure your DJ has an assistant in case breaks are needed.

It really depends on the type of party you are having. Is it just a "let's get together, get drunk and dance" party? or is there a special meaning/reason behind the party?

Check out the American DJ Association's web page for some DJ's in your area: www.adja.org

Hey Batman... sounds like you need "a hero". DJ's come in all types... some that scratch, and some that don't but can still rock your party. It all depends on what you are looking for, and what's in your budget. Do the "homework" and find who's right for you... not who on a chat site will give you some names.

For example, the best know DJ who scratches will run into the thousands, and he requires the gear is already provided... He shows up, with his own mixes, and runs the show. If anything breaks down, YOU have to fix it. He travels anywhere in the world, but you pay for his travel and hotel.

Want something less, check with some of your local clubs to see if there is a DJ who can do your party... but expect to pay close to a Grand for a good one who scratch mixes. Most working DJ's use CDs or MP3s and mix with the equipment (not turntables) to get what you're looking for. There are many DJ mixing programs out there that will give you the "scratch style".

Make sure you provide some booze. The best DJ is a drunk DJ.
