I'M CHOOSING TO THINK POSITIVELY

BrittStanly, on February 24, 2010 at 5:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

So we have about 45 days till our wedding, and we still need to come up with about $3,000 apparently our families won't be able to help as much as they lead us to believe. It's not their fault though, the economy really sucks and my FH's dad works for IBM and we're just thankful that he still has this job (because he's one of their best consultants), because they are laying tons of people off.

On Tuesday I got into an accident with my fiances car, and it was totalled, I'm alright a minor concussion, but the car is dead and we are only going to get a few thousand for it from the insurance company (it was the other guys fault)

So I'm trying to work extra extra hard at my job- last week I worked 51 hours (from sunday all the way to saturday) and I"m a full time student in school.

My fiance has to leave every 2 weeks for his job. So I miss him a lot and I'm kind of lonely.

And I'm having health problems again, I keep having a shooting pain in the entire right leg, all the way from my toes to my knees. Then it get's tingly and I loose feeling in it for a few minutes. We can't really afford to go to the hospital/doctors for anything right now, because my insurance sucks pretty much because I am a student. SOOOO YEA....life is pretty stressful right now...

ughhhhhhhhhhhhh, but it;ll be okay, even great. Because I'm goign to have a wonderful husband who works so hard for me and loves me with all of his heart.

When I think about that I have to stop feeling bad for myself

    Smiley smile

I'm happy you are ok! Everything will work out in the end and the only thing that matters that is you and your FH will be married.

Hey, we have the same date!!! But can you go to an attorney for the accident? You may be able to get more money that way. They normally offer free consulatations for Personal Injury. My mom has helped out a lot, but of course, there was still a bunch of stuff to pay for. So I hate to say this, we are making it through w/credit cards. My mom took over my car payment, and she is going to keep that, but I have a bunch of cc debt and I just bought a house...with the wedding in there too, it is a little difficult to pay for everything. But I am sure you can find a way, stay positive. It's the best thing for you to do!

If you have pain in your leg, and it started with the car accident, you don't have to worry about your personal health insurance. This would be covered under the medical portion of the car insurance. I'm currently in Physical therapy for a similar pain (back pain - degenerative disc disease with sciatic implications). I got a call the other day from a third party company on behalf of my insurance company trying to bill it out in relation to a car accident or work injury.

I'm sorry to hear this. Keep your head up and I'm sure everything will work out fine. As for the extra money for the wedding, is there any chance you can take a loan out from your 401k? I know at my job we can do that and we get the check within 3 days. Just an idea... not sure if thats an option for you. As for the accident, I'm glad you're ok and I would definitely try and get more money for your injuries. Good luck with everything!

@HisLilSassafras - Thanks. Lucky that the PT'ist I go to has a "hardship" program. I just reached my 20 visits covered by insurance in a calendar year. They'll allow me to continue at my co-pay amount! Smiley smile

I totally see how people get addicted to pain killers and muscle relaxers. Boy do they work, and knock you out so you can actually sleep! I'm only using those for the worst of my flare ups!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all of the good wishes Smiley smile

as for like taking a loan out, or putting it on a credit card, or borrowing from anyone, that's not really an option for us. My fiance graduates college in 1 year, and are on a good track of not getting into any debt, and we only have a couple thousand in school loans, sooo Smiley smile I really don't want to ruin that.

I'm just going to keep working hard and we'll be able to do it! Smiley smile
