How long??

GetitReich, on July 18, 2016 at 8:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 73

Hello everyone!! How long did you all wait between your engagement and getting married?? We are waiting 2 years and I feel like I'm so excited to plan but there's nothing I can plan yet!! I'm sure you all can give me pointers on how to cure my excitement and being impatient.

We were planning on a year... but got married 1 month and 2 days after we were engaged.

However since it was a last minute adventurous opportunity that was presented to us, we are still planning our church blessing for about 8 months after we were engaged.

I recommend starting with determining your budget and guest list. Once you have those you can start watching prices and for sales. You can start researching venues. Many will let you book 2 years out, and if it's a common wedding venue you may be better off booking 2 years out.

Congratulations and best wishes! (ETA math is hard lol 8 months after not 6)

Our engagement will end up being 9 mos. It's the second (and last!) wedding for both of us and we are keeping it small. We'd get married tomorrow, if we could. However, our parents live in Florida and Alaska and we're in Colorado. We're giving them some time to get it together to be here for it!

It'll be two years for us.

Btw, you can DEFINITELY plan! I say this so many times on here. We got engaged Nov. 2015. We booked out venue in December and had our photographer and videographer booked by Feb. Now I'm looking into our DJ, and MUA. Thanks to early planning I've saved quite some money. Start early!

Our engagement will only be a little over 5 months long. Because we're crazy. But i am a planner at heart (actually planning big events is a huge part of my job) so i got the most important things done quickly and at this point it's mostly detail things Smiley smile

Ours is about 14 months. However, I didn't really start planning till late April. Happy planning!

Our engagement will be 15 months long. I'm not good at being patient either. I booked venue, DJ, photographer, and videographer all within 2 months of being engaged. Oh and my dress already arrived at the shop....so I've got about 5 months until I need to start alterations.

I would start looking at venues - in my area places book up fast. Plus you might get this year's pricing for 2018 which would be awesome.

Our engagement is going to be 27 months long. I looked at different wedding related things right after we got engaged and then sporadically since. We didn't truly buckle down with planning until the past couple months.

Our engagement will be about ten months. We have plans for a long distance move next summer, and I wanted a winter wedding but didn't want to have to plan from a great distance.

I don't think it's too early to nail down the big stuff, but there's always Pinterest to keep you busy!

Our engagement will be about 6 months. We didn't actively decide on a short engagement, but we've been casually talking about marriage for 2 years so when FH was like "this October?" I just went with it.

Honestly if I had more time I'd probably go nuts with the waiting. I'm a planner by trade and by nature, I want all the big things locked down so I can just wait for the day to arrive. As it stands we're still trying to decide on a caterer and it's starting to make me nuts.

Somewhere between 15 and 16 months. It seemed like too long, but it's already almost here!

Our wedding isn't until July of next year, and we got engaged in May of 2015. I believe that's 26 months. So long! But so worth it. We have been able to save money and plan at our leisure. Its the first marriage for both of us, and we are in our early twenties so we are EXTRA excited (if thats even possible). Anyway, you're not alone, and it is totally do-able!

We'll be engaged for little over a year! We wanted to have it this fall but decided it was better to wait. Give us time to save for the wedding we want. But I totally could have had it planned in time lol

Ours will be around 16 months, give or take a couple weeks. We've planned quite a bit, but I wanted to get our date nailed down.
