Hello...and a question about BM dresses

Kristin, on April 2, 2011 at 12:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hi ladies! I have been lurking for a while and commenting a bit but realized I never introduced myself so I figured I should and I wanted some advice from all of you "experts" on my BM dresses.

My wedding is October 15, 2011 and my colors started out as light blue and brown but have evolved to more browns and blues. The dress my girls and I have chosen is Bill Levkoff #454 in Sable with a Latte sash. When we picked the dress (no one has ordered yet but all plan to in the next week) I looked at the color swatches together in the store and really liked it. When I got home and showed my mom on the website, the colors look terrible together. My other option is to go with the champagne sash. I plan for the flowers to be blue so I don't love the idea of having a blue sash on the dress. I know it says on the website that the monitor images may change the colors but it's really concerning me so I was hoping someone might have some advice for me. Thanks! Smiley smile

I think Champagne might actually work better with that color brown. I can't imagine any type of blue with it except maybe a light sky or baby blue, but even then that is iffy. If you want the dress blue, I would go with a light blue dress and a sash that looked the color of the dress you have in that picture. I went to a wedding where they did that once.

I guess I should add that the shade of the brown in the store was between the brown of the dress and the champagne and didn't look at all greenish like I think it looks in the pic.

@Aida- Thanks! I was having trouble picturing it with blue too but the consultant said she's seen it done and it looked great but I remain a bit skeptical.

Understandable. I mean I am pretty sure its been done, its just really hard to actually picture it.

Thats a bit more green though..

Its a pretty hard color combo, though online colors are a bit different. Maybe see if the store has one like that so you can get a better idea.

If you liked the swatches in the store, then you should be okay. The colors on computer screens really are different. Here's a pic of my colors (wine and cognac) on the computer and the swatches next to each other, they definitely don't look the same as they do in person.

    Hi Kristin~ welcome to WW

Go back with a camera and see how it photographs.

Otherwise... I think the brown dress you picked out will be beautiful with a champaign sash... Are you thinking blue hydrangeas for flowers?

Can't wait to see more of your ideas!

    ~ Happy Planning ~
