Hey ladies and gents! FH and I have really close friends getting married 2 weeks after us so we are all going to go on our honeymoon at the end of August together. Super excited. Anyone heard of Buddymooning(also means when you invite friends on your honeymoon) ?? Anyone else doing it?? 💍🍾🍹👙

Sounds fun to me. I have friends who invited other friends to their honeymoon. They wanted a party experience in Vegas so i think your location works out for this kind of trip. Furthermore, to anyone saying its not a honeymoon technically there is no standard definition and can be anything you want it to be. The couple vacationing after they are married, i don't think there is an "exclusions may include additional friends" attached to the definition. To each their own. Especially because they have already traveled there alone so i'm sure OP knows the experience she wants to have. I just have a question..im getting married August 10 can we come too? hahaha jk Smiley xd

like idk how there can be a standard for a honeymoon to be considered a honeymoon.
It's literally whatever the newlyweds want it to be.

Never heard of it until now! Honestly, though, FH and I are really looking forward to it being our first big vacation together that doesn't involve family. Since we probably won't be able to afford a really nice resort-style vacation again indefinitely, we want to keep it to ourselves.

We went with a couple on their honey moon when they got married in 2015. We were with them for I think two or three days total but the rest were separate. We had different suites and we hung out during the day and went to dinner together. Then when we didn’t hang out they just did whatever they wanted and we did what we wanted. It wasn’t weird at all because a Honeymoon is simply just a vacation. If you want to spend it with someone else- go for it! Just don’t be shy to go your separate ways here and there!

    Sounds like our exact plan.
And doing things separately will definitely be a conversation before the buddymoon lol 😁

FH and I are delaying our honeymoon until our first anniversary because of graduate school and my internship, so we definitely wouldn’t be don’t this. We will have waited wayyyyy too long to want to share that with friends!

owever, I think it could be fun to have friends with you as long as there was distinct alone time. I hope you guys have a great time!

I like this idea! It would be fun to have good friends to share a few excursions with as long as you make time for yourselves too of course. Bonus- built in photographers! I hated bothering people to snap photos of us all week!

Nope. I generally hate people and travelling with people is tricky in general. Especially when you will want some alone time, too.

Nooooope nope nope, not for me. Down time. Lots of sleeping. Being 100% on our own schedule. Please.

We did a vacation with FH's best friend and his wife once. Turns out she and I don't get along in close quarters. That was a bad idea.

I never heard of it and personally wouldn't want to do it. The FH and I work opposite schedules so despite living together we rarely see each other. We rarely get more than an hour together per day due to work and sleep schedules being so different. Having the honeymoon to ourselves will be a great way to start our marriage. Plus my birth control is coming out the day before the wedding so that kind of implies what we will be doing for a good portion of the honeymoon.

Most of the people saying they wouldn't do it have great reasons why. Like of course you guys NEED this time. You guys obviously have a strong relationship bc that type of day to day schedule could tear a couple apart. I 100 percent applaud you two! 👏👏👏

And I also pray that you guys conceive on the first try ! 🙏🙏

We do friendcations all the time. We just have the rule that if you want to do something, you tell the group, and then you do it. If they want to do it, they will join you. If you want to do something they told you about, you can join them. It is super easy, stressfree, allows us to hang out with our friends but each person still gets exactly what they want out of the vacation because they are deciding what they do and there is no pressure to do everything together. If we had friends getting married around the same time, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest a buddymoon. I like hanging out with my friends.

We did this!! We went on a 2 week honeymoon. We went to Key West by ourselves for 2 days and then to Clearwater with his mom and aunt for 2 days and then we spent the rest of the time at his mom and aunts house (with them) on the west coast of Florida. My sister and my niece (who was 6 at the time) came down and spent the last 5 days with us. My sister, husband and I call each other Besties so we called it the Bestiesmoon! It was awesome!!

I was a victim (invitee) of a buddy moon situation a few years ago. It was all good..going to Jamaica after the out of town wedding $$$$ . no biggie until everyone else backed out and I'm now the third wheel in my friends honeymoon!#!!😕💩😳
    Don't. Do. It.
My friends are like family to me so it worked out but I felt bad for them and then for myself lol.

MY MOH met another couple on their honeymoon and spent the whole time with them, so this iits just like that! I don't think FH would want to because he wants to be secluded but it sounds fun to me!
