Did you wear a different ring while yours was being cleaned?

I wore my great great grandmother's ring while mine was being cleaned for engagement pictures. I'm still wearing it for the next couple days because I don't want my ring to lose it's sparkle before pictures. (I work in the medical field so lots of germs and washing of hands) I kept having mini panic attacks thinking I lost my ring and just didn't feel right not wearing one.

I got a “replica” (just a ring that looked similar but it was sterling silver and cubic zirconia) from Etsy that I wore on my honeymoon. It was like $40 I think.


My jeweler only took a couple hours to clean my ring though lol so I didn’t have something temporary for that :p

I typically wear my silicone ring when mine is being cleaned. I've never heard of a cleaning taking 3 weeks. Are they taking it apart? I typically get mine cleaned & prongs checked once a month and it takes about 10 minutes.

Hi Alejandra! We're I t the same boat! Just sent my ring out to be cleaned and checked. I have a second ring in 14k that I'm wearing in the meantime. I think Amazon has some pretty well priced CZ rings. This way you have an inexpensive ring to wear when traveling and having your engagement ring serviced.

I’m taking my ring in this week to get redipped so will not have it for 3 weeks. I’m wearing a Tiffany ring I own on that finger as I would not feel the same not wearing a ring!

I loooove the modern gents trading company!! I bought a cz ring from them and have been wearing it because we had to get my ring resized and soldered with my wedding ring. It looks so real that I sent a pic of my nails to my mom and she called me asking when we got a second diamond lol.

I honestly don't feel the need to wear a stand-in ring at all. I regularly don't wear my engagement ring, especially at home or at the gym, or if I'm just running errands.

Haven't thought about that but I do know we want to look into getting those silicone wedding bands for when we vacation so maybe that could be an option for you. You two can go and pick out one for each other so it makes it a little more special. They're super cheap, come in a variety of colors/patterns and can be brought on Amazon. We're even going to have them blessed when we get them!
