Did you pick your ring or were you completely surprised?

I was surprised

My fiance had it custom ordered. I gave him guidance on the kind of cuts i didn't like, no yellow gold, and antique style. He did a fantastic job!

Love seeing these rings! My fiancé and I looked to see what styles I liked, then he combined a modern style he loved and a vintage style I loved! He kept it a surprise so I had no idea what it would look like until he proposed. He's also designing the wedding bands himself as well, kind of exciting to not know what they will look like!

My fiancé picked it out with his mom. I had thought I wanted a sapphire blue gem ring but what he got (diamond) was perfect! I had no clue he was purposing and was in disbelief/happiness when he did.

I guess you can say I picked it! We went window shopping at Tiffany’s and I fell in love with a ring with an aquamarine center stone, double halo of diamond with a paved band. Way out of our price range when we were looking at rings. So I found a jeweler on Etsy who made a very similar ring. When FH proposed one of the first things I said to him was OMG is that the ring I showed you. Yep! It sure was 😁

We went ring shopping a couple times to get an idea of what style I liked bc I was clueless. I thought I wanted an emerald cut solitaire and ended up with a three stone halo! I never would’ve known if I hadn’t tried it on. (I don’t wear the wedding band yet! I was trying it on bc he just picked them up from being resized lol)

Although I told him everything I want and didn't want, we were still planning on going together to let me pick mine out. He ended up tossing that plan and surprised

me by buying a ring that is everything I never wanted.

I picked the stone and designed the setting with the jeweler. My fiancé is hopeless where jewelry is concerned so I told him he could propose without a ring and we choose together after. He did attend a couple of the appointments with me to pick out which diamond and gave feedback in some of the CADs.

My fiancé did pretty good, I told her the shape I wanted.

He picked a ring, but it wasn’t really my taste. I like a more simple design and so we went shopping for new one!
