Did you pick your ring or were you completely surprised?

We are using my mom's diamond, but I wanted a new setting. We picked out a few that we liked, but one stood out so much that I cried and we both knew it was the one. He engraved it/customized it a little to make it even more perfect.

We went shopping together. He privately set the price range with the woman helping us and off we went! Tried on SO many rings and styles. He proposed about 6 months later. I love it!

For my engagement ring he picked on his own but it was one we had seen when we were out shopping and I commented on how much I loved it. Then we went together to get my wedding band.

It took my fiance 6 months to find the perfect ring! He surprised me of course. Everyone knew before me (I mean everyone including social media). He got the diamon before he found the perfect setting and even then he had to get the setting customized since the setting was originally for a square cut diamon and he knew I preferred round cut diamon. This guy went as far as to getting acess to my Pinetrest account since my friend had told him I had pintrest boards and thats where he got a rough idea of what I would like. (I say rough because I'm very undecisive so my board had different ranges of ring ideas). Anyways I did come close so many times to finding the ring (so says my fiance) and also the surprise was almost spoiled by Disneyland security. He proposed Dec 15th, 2018. We originally planned to marry 2020 but covid happened and we were separated most of 2020 since we are dual military and we were assigned different locations. So know we are finally planning a small Civil wedding Sep 22, 2022 (First day of Fall). After that we will have a big ceremony on Sep 22, 2024.
