Did you have a photo booth?

Kimberly, on October 21, 2017 at 11:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 30

We are over our budget and looking to cut back somewhere. What are some pros and cons that you can share about having a photo booth? Or maybe an alternative?

We aren't having it. You can have signs that have a hashtag on them so people can post pics they take and you can see them.

I didn't miss it. I wanted one but the actual day of we had food and entertainment that I don't think many would of done it since everyone has cellphones now.

We plan on having one. It'll be our favors instead of something people won't take or like. It's also been a popular thing at parties and weddings in my area.

We had one. We cut down on ceremony flowers over having the photobooth. Figured our guests would get more enjoyment out of the photobooth than staring at a pretty floral arch for all of twenty minutes while the ceremony takes place. Both would’ve cost the same.

I agree with miranda as to the point where everyone just uses their phones and you probably wouldnt get the usage out of a photo booth. How much do they cost to hire just out of interest?

We had one... but I was trying to save money and hadn't planned on one either, it ended up being a gift from our grandparents. It was nice to look back on but not necessary!

Thanks for all the responses! We may do some disposable cameras or something. @mostyn, the cheapest I've seen near me is around $600.

We're having one, but we got a bundle deal with booking it through our DJ company. They are also doubling as favors and a scrapbook they make for us.

There are always DIY options you can set up too. I think it could easily be done, but also not a big deal if you don't have one.

We are having one because we also got a bundle deal with our DJ. It's fun but not a must have so if it's not in the budget, skip it.

I never use them at weddings I prefer to be on the dance floor! We are not having one, but I have been to wedding where everyone loves them. It def would be the first thing I would cut.

This was a must have for us. We have blown our budget but really we made some other concessions to keep certain things. To us, this was one of them.

We have it as a freebie with our photo/video package. If it's not in the budget or you need to cut costs I'd skip it.

I went to Zazzles and had a fake Instagram frame printed for a selfie station. Glued it to foam board and am having a friend put it in a frame to make sure it is sturdy. (I attached a pic of 2 friends posing with the frame). The printing was $35. Total cost with glue, foam board, and poster frame maybe $55?

This was a must have for us. However, we got a great deal. It was only 360 for 4 hours. We are not doing favors. We have been to a couple weddings with these and they are a blast!

We're not doing one, maybe if we have extra money left over but it's not high on the list of priorities. I've seen a ton of DIY photo booths you could look into to save money.

We are having a photobooth, we are getting the same guy that did my sisters wedding and he was great. He is taking 1 of each picture and putting it in a book for us and having people write a message, so we are doing that instead of a guestbook. Also, he offers for the 2nd picture to be put in a little frame or a bookmark, which is a nice touch, instead of people just shoving it into their wallets and forgetting about it (which I tend to do). We are going to do black and white photos and no props. Im not into the props, half the time you cant even tell who is in the picture, just personal preference. This is one of the only things that my FH considered a "must have", so we were happy to have it.

We originally wanted to do a photo booth with our DJ package, but I'm thinking we'll be over budget with it. So I'm planning on cutting it out and maybe DIY'ing it if I think we need it!
