Did you get your dress steamed or pressed after alterations?

Mrs. Vitucci, on September 13, 2011 at 12:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Just finished with alterations, now need the dress steamed or pressed.

How much did you pay for your dress to be steamed/pressed?

Sorry the pictures didn't come out so well.

I chose not too, since we paid for our own, money was tight and it was another $65 to have it done however, my dress didn't need it but it was a ballgown with TULLE. If you have a SATIN dress I'd recommend getting it pressed. We had our bridesmaid dresses in SATIN and they certainly DID need the wrinkles steamed out. That cost about $34 each but was worth it..good luck!

The salon I bought my dress at also did the alterations and then steamed it before delivering it to me the day before the wedding. Please be careful where you take it to get it pressed/steamed! A careless dry cleaner give damage it and cause a whole lot of stress you don't need.

I paid $30 for my seamstress to steam and store it after the alterations are completed.

Not sure yet, but I think my alterations lady provides that in the cost.

I'd recommend getting it steamed so it's very fresh for the pics =). My place is going to steam and store it after the alterations.
