So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course...
So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course being a curvier woman they had nothing in my size. FH and starting Keto which worries me about purchasing a dress as it is. But I need one. Anyways, the stylist brought out this one dress. It was $200. Perfect for the beach wedding. It is comfy and will look great if I lose weight. Well searching for DDs dress I saw a bride cry and realize I didnt cry. Then realized I settled. I really like my dress. It is very pretty. But it isn't The One! But with budget and everything else...I guess it is perfect. I'll post a picture below in the comments.

So did anyone cry or not cry. Did anyone just settle? Are you happy or have regrets?

This is a popular style sash/belt even for non-bridal so check out second hand sites like Poshmark too if you are budget conscious Smiley smile

I definitely did not cry when I found the dress. I didn't cry when he proposed either though lol. I walked out with the 3rd dress I tried on. It just felt right and my friends were like yup that's the one. I sometimes second guess myself but I remember how good it felt on and then I look at other dresses and I'm like nope it's still the one

I tried on dresses at David’s bridal twice. The first time was for my sizing and then I ordered a dress online and it didn’t fit then I went back to see if I can find something I like ( I picked a few from the website) they only had one from the 4 I picked online . I was really hurt because I just knew this one was the one but they didn’t have it. So I tried on the ones the consultant picked out and I didn’t like them. Then I tried on the omes my maid of honor and bridesmaid picked out and didn’t like them too. Finally I tried on the one I chose from online and was in love I felt this tingle feeling. So I tried on another one and nothing. I told the consultant that I wanted to try on the one I picked and I got that same feeling. Then we added the jewelry and veil and tiara and I didn’t want to. Take the dress off! I damn near cried. Especially when it was time to ring the bell! I love my dress! Just need a few alterations ( changing the zipper to corset) Can’t wait til 3/10/19.

I teared up and so did my mom and bestie. But, it wasnt tears streaming down our faces. Didn't even need tissues. Really, it's about how that dress makes you feel. Does it make you feel wonderful? The price doesn't have anything to do with that true feeling. You're only wearing this once, so if it's not a $7,000 dress, I'd say your smart/frugal not necessarily desperate for any dress. Remember, you will also be enhancing the look with accessories, hair and makeup and a beautiful bouquet. It's really how it makes you feel, not how many tears you've shed for it.

I just bought mine on Saturday. 3rd bridal dress I've ever tried on. I am curvy and just knew everything would look terrible on me. Well, that didn't happen. That dress makes me feel like a beautiful bride. And, it was on sale.

Good luck with the rest of your planning!

I'm 3/23/19. Just got my dress last Saturday from DB. Just adding a bustle. First time shopping for wedding dress, 3rd dress (my mom picked off rack) and I loved it. It feels like a huge check mark, whew!

    Congrats!

Have you gotten the dress yet? I was thinking about using them for bridesmaid dresses. Not sure if the quality and actual pictured product is there. Mixed reviews online.

Also, I did have a touch of buyer's remorse sweep over me, and my cure for that was going back up on the DB website, finding dress and reading the reviews on the dress. It has a 5 star rating and everyone is still in love with this dress. That made me feel like, "yeah, there's alot of other girls out there that love this dress too".

Thank you congrats to you also our days will be here before you know it. I take mine in to be altered on the 11th. It’s a huge check mark. Now it’s just the little things and sending out the invites. I tried to get everything done early so all I have do is sit and wait

I didn't cry. I was very happy with the dress because it was the first one that made me feel like a bride, if that makes sense. It was just happiness, no tears or more raw emotion than being content!

Congratulations on your dress - you are beautiful! Don't worry about your Mom's remarks. I've found that people who say bad things really just want others to be as miserable as they are on the inside. You are gonna be a gorgeous bride on your wedding day!
I'm having the same problem with not having "the moment" in any of the dresses I've tried on and I've yet to find my dress so I'm not sure if one of these dresses are "the one" and I'm looking too much into having "the moment" to pick my dress or it's just not my dress. Their are some beautiful ones to choose from but nothing that I can truly say, "Yep, this is mine!" The more I wear it, the prettier it gets.

I didn't cry, but I didn't think I would anyhow. I love my dress and I think its perfect for our venue and our theme. It more my style and it was in my price range as well. I knew I couldn't afford the grand boutique look, so I was ok with looking at DB and I found a dress I love.

I cried only after putting on a bridal sash and a veil to complete the look. I am not a crier so this was super unexpected. But I know plenty who did not cry when the found their dress. It's all about you and how gorgeous you look in your dress! Congratulations
