Did you cry when you got your dress?

So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course...
So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course being a curvier woman they had nothing in my size. FH and starting Keto which worries me about purchasing a dress as it is. But I need one. Anyways, the stylist brought out this one dress. It was $200. Perfect for the beach wedding. It is comfy and will look great if I lose weight. Well searching for DDs dress I saw a bride cry and realize I didnt cry. Then realized I settled. I really like my dress. It is very pretty. But it isn't The One! But with budget and everything else...I guess it is perfect. I'll post a picture below in the comments.

So did anyone cry or not cry. Did anyone just settle? Are you happy or have regrets?

Not a lick of moisture out of these eyes. I think I was just in shock because it wasnt a style I originally liked until I tried it on. I love my dress and I always see dresses that I think are gorgeous, but they arent my dress. As far as a belt, you should definitely try Etsy.

I didn't cry at all. I did have the biggest smile ever and my FH and BM said I was glowing in it. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one. You look great in that dress.

Thank you! I'm very insecure with my weight right now and my mom doesn't help with that. She was with me today and made a few remarks. Which I know didnt help either. Funny thought. She bought the dress for me. But I am paying her back for half of it. FH and I are starting Keto. So I am happy that dress will still look great even with some weight loss. And I do have to get it alerted since I'm short. So if needed to be taken in some too will be ok.

First, your dress is beautiful! And second, my dress experience was probably even less of a "THE dress" moment then yours! Lol. I was sitting on the couch with FH looking online and found one I liked and hit the purchase button. I have never even tried on a wedding dress.. but it doesn't bother me. I'm more excited to just have everyone together. 🤷‍♀️😁

Just remember, it's what you think. No one else. Thankfully I haven't had any remarks but if I did, I would tell them that's fine I'm sorry you feel that way. Be confident because you look great in it

I had to giggle at that. I'm sorry. I was going to buy on Amazon so I would have been there right with you if I didnt get a dress today. Did you get your dress yet?

I knew prior to trying it on it was my dress . Before I got engaged, I saw a photo of the dress and I was like this is my dress. I finally got the ring and my mom found a shop near by to try on dresses. I tried it first then 4 more just to try other style. I didn't cry but I said I knew it. I felt like myself but "bridal". I think your gown is beautiful. 💜

I laugh at the thought every time! Lol yes I did get it already, and it is pretty big on me since I thought it was a better idea to order it larger just in case it ran small. But I'm happy with it. I didnt have a sentimental moment... but I dont think that was ever going to happen for me since I dont really wear dresses anyway. Maybe after alterations and when it's a good fit I will have more feelings towards it.. 🤷‍♀️

I bought my dress from dresslily. Ive been married before so I didn't want a traditional dress. I found several I liked and fell in love with this one. I did not cry, with either dress. My first dress was borrowed from a friend.

I cried a little. I saw the dress on a mannequin and told my bridesmaids that I thought it was ugly.. the stylist had me try it on (I told her I’d try on things she thought would look nice) and I came out. Everyone cried before I could look at myself. They added a vail the color of my dress and I cried .

I read your bio and saw you are doing a 50 style. Did you buy a Rockabilly style dress? I love those style and was looking at those when we discussed just going to the courthouse.

I actually have it. I brought it home the same day. I did want to put it on last night but FH was around. So I guess that does say something. I think once I go get it altered and to where it fully fits me right I will feel bridal.

I unexpectedly did cry. I am not an emotional person and was raised with the mind set that only the weak cry. But I lost it! The consultant at David's Brideal did a phenomenal job by ignoring my vision because I hated all the dresses on me. She came up with a "random" dress she just had to see on me (sneaky saleswoman). When I looked at myself in the mirrors i lost all control. Definitely THE DRESS!
