Did you cry when you got your dress?

So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course...
So I bought my dress today. Wedding is 10/23, so time is little and I know this. There were factors into a short engagement and honestly I wasnt expecting to go buy my dress at David's Bridal. Also, budget is super tight. Well I saw they are having their $99 sale and decided to go look. Of course being a curvier woman they had nothing in my size. FH and starting Keto which worries me about purchasing a dress as it is. But I need one. Anyways, the stylist brought out this one dress. It was $200. Perfect for the beach wedding. It is comfy and will look great if I lose weight. Well searching for DDs dress I saw a bride cry and realize I didnt cry. Then realized I settled. I really like my dress. It is very pretty. But it isn't The One! But with budget and everything else...I guess it is perfect. I'll post a picture below in the comments.

So did anyone cry or not cry. Did anyone just settle? Are you happy or have regrets?

    You look beautiful!

I didnt cry cry when I bought my dress, but I didn’t want to take it off. I just kept twirling and looking at it in the mirror. I told the lady helping me, “I like this one”.

However, my mom got all sentiment after we left the store and we had a great cry fest in the car. I was more happy to share this experience with my mom than any dress I would’ve bought.

I didnt cry. And when the consultant asked how it felt to be in a wedding dress, I said "really weird"
But, I love my dress. So I'm not too worried that I settled.

I didn’t cry, nor did my mom. I didn’t say yes that day, but about 2 hours after we left the appointment I called to make a follow up & said yes to the dress 3 days later. 7+ months have passed and whenever I see a wedding dress, nothing is comparable to mine. If you think you settled though, there are other options. You can check out bhldn, which has an awesome return policy, storefronts in major cities & you can get the dress in 7 business days.

I cried when i tried on the first dress at macys bridal salon..it was a very emotional moment to see myself in a wedding gown with veil. I liked the dress thought that was the dress since i cried but decided to go to other stores before committing to it..after i went to other stores i started to not like the first dress..then i went to DB and found a dress and loved it. I didnt cry but i saw myself getting married in that one. Thats the one i dreamt of and i loved the way it looked on me. I was very HAPPY and cant wait for the day..i am glad i didnt buy the first one just cuz i cried

I think I felt at the time I settled because of time and budget. I do like my dress. But after talking to friends and some people on here, I know that I am happy and the I know the dress isn't the most important thing. Spending a lot on a dress for a one day isn't what matters. It is marrying your best friend and that is what I am doing.

Congrats on getting your dress. I did cry when I said yes to the dress partly because my mom started crying. I would suggest you glam it up with accessories and a sash so you can have the look your going for. I love bling so I would suggest lots of bling if your into that.

I did not cry. My mother, best friend/MOH, and every sales person at David's Bridal actually thought I hated my dress because I guess I just looked miserable haha. It is definitely "the one" and I love it, I just don't care for all the pomp and circumstance.

No, it was the end of August, my wedding was in early October and I was so relieved it fit I did not cry. It was off Amazon and I was in my living room.

You will look beautiful on your wedding day no matter which dress you wear!

Your dress is lovely on you!

I did not cry. I'm not really a happy crier. All the pictures of me in my dress are of me smiling from ear to ear! I was excited and beaming!

I, too, went to David's Bridal. I had shed silent tears after viewing my appearance in a ball gown dress. I did not want this style before then; seeing that I thought it was juvenile for me! Yet the embroidery and fit were complimentary to my body shape.

Knowing that this is likely the only time that I will select this type of dress for any future occasion makes me appreciate this one-time opportunity.

Not going to lie We bawled our eyes out when I found my dress! My mom and sisters had to leave the room because they didn’t want me to cry, I did anyways lol. But it all really depends on the bride🤷🏽‍♀️ I’ve always dreamt of my wedding dress so when I finally found it I was super emotional lol

I only felt like I settled when I kept looking on Facebook and other sites online after I had found my dress. Even after looking back at pictures when I tried it on, I started regretting it. But I recently went for an alterations appointment and when I saw myself, I didn't have those doubts. This was definitely THE dress. Which brought me back to when I had bought the dress. I didn't cry or anything. There were more dresses I was going to try on, but I stopped at this one. It just felt right.

Looking at the picture you posted in the comments, I think you look gorgeous in that dress and it looks like you're happy in it and that's what matters. If you are wanting and ash similar to that, I would look on Etsy. I've heard good things about that type of stuff on there.

Good luck with the rest of your planning! 😊

You have a beautiful dress and you look great in it.
I didn't cry when I found my dress, but I got the biggest smile in my face and I felt like a princess. I didn't get that feeling with any of the other dresses I tried on even though some of them were stunning.
My mom took a picture of me at that momemt, and every time I see another cute dress online and start second guessing myself, I just look at the picture and my smile and I know I made the right choice.

I didn't cry and my dress is my dream dress. I had it in mind and began searching for it even before I was engaged. For me I think I was so relieved to have finally found it that I didn't feel like crying but I'm not one for crying over happy things. I'm beyond happy with my dress. I don't think I'll cry on my wedding day either as we already feel married and I've been through a lot of things in the past few years that have been difficult so I'll be relieved to finally be experiencing such a joyful day so for me I don't think there will be any crying. Your dress is gorgeous and looks like it was made for you.
