Did you change your original wedding date? Why?

Shannon, on June 17, 2019 at 8:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 13
We’re debating on changing our wedding date from 6/19/21 to 3/20/21. We’re Pagan and wanted to get married on a solstice or equinox. We were thinking summer solstice which is why we went for June. After talking today, we realized that Spring Equinox is 3/20/21 and IS on a Saturday! That date also seems to be out of prime wedding season and we might be able to get some better deals. We haven’t officially decided yet. Have you changed your date? What was your reasoning?

It’s inside. I really don’t mind if there is snow or not. Lol

We changed our wedding date, we were going to have September 26 2020 because we both love autumn and our dating anniversary is December 26. Then we realized that we wouldn’t be able to go on our honeymoon right away since my FH is returning to university. So we decided on August 21 2020 because it’ll be 18 months after we got engaged and we’ll have 2-3 weeks before my FHs classes will start

I forgot how many times my fh and I changed our date. First we picked oct 5, 2019. Then my sister decided to have her quinceanera so we pushed it to Oct 26, 2019. We then moved it to Oct 12th. We felt like it was too close to the quince and might still have family around. Since ours wedding is small, we didnt want to turn it big with family still being around. We then moved it to April 4, 2020. My fh said it's too much of a weed holiday (I still dont get it) we finally picked April 18, 2020. I was scared we might chage it so we had to get the church. So now its official lol.

I didn’t but I had my wedding on March 9. The only thing I would tell you to consider as a March bride is the wind. If is an outdoor wedding and you’re in the south the wind gets a little wild. If you’re more up north then you might get a chilly or even snow day. Other than that March is beautiful! Good luck.

My fiancé and I had talked about doing an October wedding for a long time, but after getting engaged, talking to venues and debating dates with family, the best date ended up being in August! We didn’t care too much about time of year, but we did know we wanted a short engagement (less than a year) so August was perfect if not shorter than expected (4 months and 1 week from engagement to wedding)

I love it! I’m part Pagan too and I love the idea of a solstice that happens to be on a Saturday, nice! We changed our date from June 8th to October 6th... we had to change venues (our original venue had no rain option) and we both love October. I love the moodiness of October and Halloween vibes.. totally our style and I’m so glad we changed it. It actually poured rain in ATL on June 8th too!

Have you put down any deposits? Because I wouldn't change things if I would lose deposits.
I dont know that I got any details for booking in March due to booking so early.
But if that's what you want, it's far enough away, go for it.

Before we got engaged, we thought about getting married this October or November. I love everything about fall so I thought that’d be a perfect time to get engaged. A few months later, I saw that Leap Day was next year & on a Saturday! Leap Day rarely falls on a Saturday & both of us love to do memorable things so we decided to switch our date to that. 😊 We’re going to go on a big vacation every time we have a “real” anniversary! We love to see peoples’ reaction when we tell them our wedding date!

We’ve changed our date about a gazillion times, but we just changed it from August 31st to September 1st. So not a huge difference 😂

We changed our date, our original date was 6/10/19 and we changed it to 10/4/19 because we had to work on our finances and some relationship hiccups we had to smooth out.
