We waited about 2 weeks. One because we called all of our really close family and friends. Two because i wanted to enjoy this cloud 9 i was on. FH told one of his aunts to not go FB live during the proposal (most of his family was there) because we wanted to share the news at our own time.

We waited about a week. We got engaged while on vacation, and called our families that night. But, we waited to see our families in person when we got back before posting on facebook.

Honestly, his one sister kind of forced me to post when I did, because she was so excited to post about it herself while we were at FFIL's house.

I just posted "So, this happened ... " with our engagement-day ring selfie and a closeup shot of the ring.

We absolutely did. A lot of contact for our family members are through social media so it was the easiest way to spread the word. Of course we told our immediate families first and we reached out to them personally but it was definitely an exciting moment we couldn't wait to share with everyone.

I have not announced our engagement on social media; I don't believe he has either. We have spoken with our families, and once both of our mothers knew, I envision everyone who needed to know knew very shortly after that. Neither of us is very active on the usual large social media platforms, and it is probably for the best. The people who we want to attend the wedding will find out eventually with the save the dates.

My fiancé was super eager to post on Facebook! He proposed a few days before Christmas when we had already planned to have professional photos taken. Because we had pictures of the proposal, he wanted to post right away. I made him wait a day to give me time to tell all my family. His family already knew the plan all alongSmiley smile

Since our family & friends were already there we knew if we didn’t announced it, they would probably beat us to it. About 2-3 hours later I posted on Instagram, Facebook & Snapchat.. since it happened the same week we brought our first house, it made sense my fiancé advised me to wait on posting about the house.

My FH organized for all of our immediate families to have dinner after our engagement (so perfect). But I still had a couple brothers out of state that I wanted to tell before I posted on social media. Unfortunately my SIL posted about our engagement before I was able to. Definitely felt rushed to post something so that people would see it from us and not her.

My FH and I aren’t on social media. When we were telling our closest family and friends we made sure to tell them not to post anything online because we wanted to make sure we told everyone we wanted. Mainly our moms were excited to post on FB. After we told everyone we wanted to tell I sent both our moms a picture for my FH and I with the ring

Technically, yes. We told our respective parents and siblings and his grandmother, then just did the “Engaged to” thing on Facebook. Of course, since we have engagement pictures tonight, there will likely be a few posted 😉
