Did any of you regret doing a first look or not doing one?

Originally I wasn’t going to but to save time I think we will do one.

No regrets at all. I loved our first look and it didn’t make walking down the aisle any less special. We both bawled as I walked down the aisle.

We didn't do one. And I don't regret it. We did text each other in the morning. The first time we saw eachother that day was walking down the aisle. We wouldn't have done it differently.

No regrets at all on doing a first look! It was an amazing moment and let us get most of our photos done before the ceremony which I was so thankful for when all I wanted to do afterwards was go inside and eat!

#TeamFirstLook allllllll the way. It was such an intimate and special moment. The pictures were amazing. Had we not done one, we really wouldn't have spent any time together on our wedding day, which is pretty crazy since it is a day for you and your spouse-to-be. I also know that the pictures we got were far better than the ones we would have gotten if we had tried to cram our family portraits, extended family portraits, bridesmaid/groomsmen pictures, and couple portraits into our one hour cocktail hour.

I had no regrets doing a first look! It was the best part of the day! I only have one picture for now!

Not married yet but I’ve never seen anyone regret doing a first look but I have heard of people regretting not doing a first look. (We’re doing a first look!)

These pictures are perfect!

I actually always love first look photos. We did a first look and have ZERO regrets. It was so special to see each other just one on one before the ceremony. And for those who are worried about losing the wow factor of him seeing you walk down the aisle, my husband had tears in his eyes when I walked down! It was completely unexpected. He isn't super emotional plus we had just seen each other! So it was a really sweet surprise to see.

As a bonus, logistically it just makes so much more sense to get all the photos done beforehand so you can go enjoy cocktail hour with your guests.

The BEST PART of our entire day. I could write a book on why, but basically - it calmed our nerves, it gave us a personal, intimate moment before the ceremony to take it all in, it calmed my dad's nerves (did a first look with him too), we got to actually enjoy our cocktail hour, and it did NOT take the "wow factor" out of the big entrance. The moment was still THE MOMENT!

Thank you! My husband teared up on the walk too. My family is so huge and unruly, I knew we would need extra time for photos haha. I know photos are usually immediate families and grandparents, but my dad's side was insistent on all of the cousins, all the different family units ... it would have been a mess. But everything went by so quickly that we ended up with time to chill at cocktail hour like you said! I was so happy.

I agree, we're 100% doing a first look. We're spending this whole day with people, so I want something with just us.

No regrets doing a first look at all. I echo what has already been said - it helps calm your nerves, gives you that special, intimate moment with no one else, and does not take away from the awe of seeing each other as you walk down the aisle. Plus it frees you up to join your guests for cocktail hour.

We did not do one. It was never even something we considered. It was incredibly special to see each other for the first time walking down the aisle and being able to share that moment with all of our loved ones. No doubt a first look would have taken away from the magic of that moment. And I know my favorite part of any wedding is watching the groom as he sees his bride for the first time.

A lot of couples choose to do a first look because of time constraints. To alleviate this, we paid to extend our reception by another hour.
