Destinations weddings/corona virus

There's a lot of variables that can happen before June however I would strongly even see if your airline will be flying into Italy. I was planning to fly to South Korea in June but I got a call from my Airline party saying that as of right now flights in March they're giving people the opportunity to cancel and be refunded without penalty. I hate to be the one to tell you this but as a back-up plan it probably wouldn't hurt to contact all the vendors there and just see could you postpone the wedding or canceled be refunded if by June the outbreak doesn't get better.

Just traveled to Dubai and I can tell you that people are still traveling heavily. Being concerned is allowed but stopping your life due to a virus isn't. This is very similar to the flu and precautions are similar. I wouldn't start freaking out over a very big "what if."

My fiance and I were just talking about that today. We're getting married in Thailand in September and hopefully it will be ok by then. I think June is also far enough that things will die down by then as well. I'd say don't worry about it too much for now!

Yes, our wedding is in June in Spain! Like Bobo ^ we're hoping things settle down by June, but accepting the fact that we may have a lower guest count than we planned on originally. Thinking positive thoughts!

Our wedding is in October in Mexico. For now their border is closed but I’m staying calm hoping things will change by then.

Yikes! Ultimately as important as it is that everyone attends I would keep in mind that the day is for the 2 of you. Those that can reschedule will and those that don't care to shouldn't be there. This situation is not your fault so ppl should be more sympathetic of the situation.

All the uncertainty around international travel right now is so difficult, I know. Our planner in Spain recommended that we pick a different date in the fall or 2021 because it looks like things won’t be back to normal by June, and if things do end up being okay it would be cutting it very close. Our vendors are being very understanding and flexible so we can keep all our plans, just change the date. I know it’s not ideal and I’ve been feeling down about it all as well lately. Have you thought about having a small ceremony locally so you don’t have to wait, and still having your big celebration abroad with your guests that are able to go later? I know none of us want to do this but so much of this is out of our control. 💕

View Quoted Comment Hey Rue we just chose to go for June 2021 I was too nervous to even try fo late summer or fall and we have 3 immediate family members that are teachers so it’s difficult to plan around.. we are thinking of maybe a small wedding or courthouse the two of us on the wedding date and then just celebrating our 1 year anniversary with our original wedding plans and guests.. I’m much more relieved having chose to just postpone it a year out especially since we both are laid off at the moment... I am sad about it, we were so close!!!

Same for us, as disappointed as we are, we are also glad to have some extra time to save more money and be in a better position financially in the future. We will probably do June 2021 as well... so weird to go from being a few months away to now over a year. It was/is going to be about an hour-ish north of Barcelona near the coast. Where in Italy are you going to be celebrating?
