Destination Wedding

Juvidalex, on June 26, 2019 at 6:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hi!
So I am planning my wedding in my hometown of Puerto Rico. I currently live in Florida so I will be doing a lot of planning from here. But I wanted to know if anyone is planning a destination wedding. What did you think of? How do I help with my friends’ accommodations or do I not even worry about that?

Thanks for the help!

I did a wedding in Florida and live in Maryland. Lucky for me I had a coordinator at the hotel where we got married. If you are lucky enough to have someone on site that will help. You can block rooms for your guests but you don’t have to do everything for them. As long as you give them enough notice they will be ok with the room block and where to fly into. Keep in mind that if you plan and DIY things that you have to get it all there along with your dress, grooms suit or whatever he’s wearing, shoes, accessories, etc. that is the tricky part. Thankfully for us we could drive because we had so many things to take including welcome bags. I would suggest you hire someone there to help you if your venue doesn’t have someone to do that with you. Good luck. I’m sure it will be beautiful!

Hi Juvidalex, we had a Destination Wedding last April on the Dominican Republic. Something that really helped our was our wedding website. We made a very detailed website with all sorts of information about things to do, where to stay, where to eat, etc. They all stayed at Airbnb’s and rented cars.

We’re planning a destination wedding too. My best advice is to hire a wedding planner/coordinator in PR and use a travel agent to coordinate lodging, airfare, transportation etc for all of your guests. A travel agent will give guests someone to ask all the travel questions too and keep everyone from asking you a 100 questions!
