Destination wedding

Is anyone else annoyed by the lack of communication with your wedding coordinator or is it just me??!!?

My wedding is in Cabo in April 2020 so far I’ve had one coordinator no longer working there and other one promising to contact or call me and never does.

The reason I chose destination wedding was to arrange early and just show up for my wedding! But it’s not working that way!

I'm doing a destination wedding next month. My travel agent gave me the best advice in the very beginning. She said they do these weddings year round like robots. She said brides will get frustrated at the lack of communication and planning because they really dont start until a couple of months before the wedding but it will all come out perfectly. Man-made was so right. They would answer but sometimes no response for a month. We just started the final plans and we are 6 weeks away. As long as they do a lot of weddings, just try to find out whatever details you can about packages and options but dont get too uptight until you are 2 months out. It's very frustrating I know but it is what it is. It will be wonderful.

I think that’s just how they do things. I’m having a destination wedding in Key West on February 2nd, and I’ve just this month started hearing from my venue coordinator and planner about things. And even now they aren’t super concerned about things and have told me I have plenty of time. Usually with destination weddings they have everything preplanned, and you just choose from their options. So even if you ask for some changes, generally what you get is something they are familiar with planning and have it down to a science.

Your resort probably does hundreds of weddings a year. Planning your wedding is natural and easy for them. Surprisingly, we were told our final decisions for our destination wedding in Mexico weren’t required until one month prior to the wedding date. It was shocking to hear that initially. Honestly, you’re probably too far out from your wedding for it to matter at this point.

sit back. Relax. Your wedding will be great.

I’m getting married in Mexico in May, and the resort said from the beginning that planning will start 3 months out. In the mean time I’ve been planning everything out so I have it ready when they finally do reach out!
