Destination Wedding! What’s more Important

Russtic Romance, on December 18, 2019 at 12:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hello gorgeous ladies, Please list your top 3 must haves at your DW! I’m so indecisive. I don’t know whether i should fly my MUA, videographer or photographer out. I am still waiting for the resort to send pics from previous weddings before I make a decision. Prices have dropped so now is the time I need to make a decision. I can use their photographer to take pics, however I haven’t seen his work. My audience will be small so a DJ isn’t on my list.

So I'm not having a DW but I would think MUA would be one of my top picks on the list just because if you hire one where you're from and already do a consultation with them you already know what you are getting in advance.

I'm having a DW and for us the important things were a videographer and photographer. We are going with whom the officiant knows since we don't live in the area. Our accommodations and food were the next important things, so we have everyone staying at the Grand Hyatt and 2 nights of dinner plans. My sister and I booked time at the hotel's salon for our hair and we are doing our own make up!

We splurged on our photo/video. We didn't use the resort, but we also didn't fly someone in. We found an amazing team in Mexico. Our other musts are really just making sure we were in a great area at a great resort so everyone could have tons of fun and party.

Hello Kaitlin, did your resort charge you outside vendor fees? That’s my worries. If my fees are outrageous, I might as well fly someone in.

Hello Andre, I’m going to connect with more people on the island to see if they can refer me to someone. I would prefer to use a team that’s stationed in Antigua. Video and photos are extremely important 🧡

Yes, there is a $500 vendor fee per vendor at our resort. However, even if you pay to fly someone in, there is a vendor fee if they don't stay at the resort. If they do stay at the resort, they require them to stay a minimum of 3 nights. So it typically ends up being most cost effective to hire someone in Mexico if you don't like the resorts people.

I would not pay a photographer or videographer to travel rather just find someone there. The MUA if you can swing it, do it. Smiley smile

Hi there. We are having our destination wedding at Sandals in Jamaica they have an option called test drive your wedding. You go there for 3 days two nights at a reduced price just for the purpose of checking out wedding options and vendors. We are using this opportunity to do all of our planning and make a deposit on our wedding. That way we can meet with vendors and see there work. For me hair is important but I have naturally curly hair and will be wearing my hair natural in a twist out cause I know my FH will appreciate that. I’m pretty good with my own makeup but my daughter as well as her best friend who is like my second daughter both have freelance makeup work over the years and are both really good. So do you have someone in your family that has a hidden talent that can take that spot for hair or makeup and y’all can do trail runs at home before the big day to save money or have a consultation with the spa many of them are talented but just work at a resort
