Destination Wedding unity sand ceremony?

Any of you ladies have or planning to travel with your unity sand ceremony set? We are flying and plan on carrying on my glass containers my worry is on the way home the containers will have sand in them does airport security allow that? Will they say anything about the sand? Im a week out for my wedding!!!

I don't think it will be a problem. You should call the airport and ask just in case.

We brought our sand ceremony set, but we checked it in our luggage. From what I have heard, it should not be a problem if you are carrying it on either but I would double check with the airport.

Put it in your check in luggage. You should be fine. You can also check the security guidelines on the location's airport website if there is one.

Keep the containers in the packaging they came in so that it's protected.

We did a sand ceremony at our wedding 2 weeks ago...very beautiful! I am not sure I would put it in the checked luggage though. We drove, so it wasn't a concern, but I would call the airport just to be sure. We melted a white candle over the top of ours to secure it. If you have time before traveling, you might want to consider it.

Yes we did it! Except we did glass crystals because DH's parents blow glass and will make us a vase with the glass crystals we used in our ceremony. My MIL brought the glass crystals and had no issues with TSA or anything and I brought the glass vases in my carry on (do not check those as they'll get broken) and it was just fine!
