Has your FH talked to his groomsmen about their budget / preference for renting vs buying? We didn’t have a destination wedding, but we knew we wanted linen suits for the groomsmen (our day had a chance of being HOT and we’d seen the guys sweat through other outdoor ceremonies in traditional suits in the past) but we couldn’t find anyone who rented linen. After doing some resesrch, we realized that the price difference between buying the linen suit and renting a traditional suit was only around $40, so all the groomsmen were really on board with buying.

I'm surprised by those stats, as in my circle, people typically rent tuxes for weddings. I've only ever been in 1 wedding where the groomsmen bought suits. I would have your fiance talk to his groomsmen and see what they all think would be easier for them.

From my experience, grooms and their groomsmen have typically rented tuxes.

Our wedding is in Riviera Maya as well (November). He is renting his suit from Men's Warehouse, and they have an extended rental policy where you pay the cost of the rental + half of the cost (fee for extending). So in our case his suit is 150, the extending fee is 75. Still cheaper than buying a suit he'll never wear again.
