Destination Wedding- Pre Wedding Party

My partner is Mexican American and his family has a ranch in Mexico about an 8 hour drive south of Tucson AZ. We live in Montana where most of my family lives. While I would love to get married in Mexico, it’s not an easy area to get to. I’ve thought doing a small local pre wedding party somewhere in Montana that my friends and family could attend if they’re not able to make it for the wedding afar. We wouldn’t do any sort of ceremony just make it a casual party. I also feel it would minimize the amount of people I’d have to worry about coordinating with to get to the ranch. Thoughts or suggestions?

I would have the wedding celebration after you marry in Mexico. Then you could celebrate actually being married and if you want you could share a video of the ceremony (even if it’s a non-professional version). You can totally make it as casual as you want and invite as many or as little people as you choose.

I would do it after. I would have the ceremony & reception in Mexico first (invite all your guests), then host a reception in Montana when you return,

I agree with the PPs and would recommend you have the celebration in Montana after your wedding in Mexico. It would be a nice way to share photos and videos from the wedding so guests can experience as much of the day as they can without having been there. You could also rewear your wedding outfits if you liked and reuse any decor
