Destination wedding makeup

I think this is one of those “know your own abilities” situations. I am in the same boat – we are having a destination wedding and I won’t have time for a trial run before The big event. I am pretty confident in my ability to do my own hair, but I am just not great at make up at all! So I am planning to do my own hair, but hired a make up after doing tons of research and find the one with amazing reviews and gorgeous real customer pictures.

I agree with Cece. I think it's a know your abilities as well, and also know whether or not you'll have the tenacity and determination to practice lots over the coming year and change. I can do my hair and makeup just fine but I want for someone else to do it for me on the day. I wanted to feel like a princess and to be pampered- plus I'm planning on using extensions which I don't know how to use at all. I get married in January in Puerto Rico, so I plan to have a hair and makeup trial here in Kansas City over the summer to mimic some heat and humidity, and then get to the location a week or two early so that I can do at least one trial with my HAMU prior to the actual day.

Cece is right on the money! I personally trust myself to do my own hair and makeup, so that's exactly what I'll be doing. if you do want to try to learn how to do your own makeup, I absolutely recommend Allie Glines on YouTube!

Are any of your guests/ bp members good with hair and makeup maybe you can ask them to help you and get a little practicing in before hand. Good luck!

Personally, I'd hire someone.. at least for hair. Do some research on stylists there and look at lots of their pictures. I'd also ask the venue for recommendations.
