Destination Wedding Invitations how to handle rsvp

AprilInTheD, on January 14, 2018 at 10:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I am having a destination wedding in Jamaica April 28th 2018. I have already created a facebook group and invited guests to share details. I also have sent out save the dates. Rooms have already all been booked for the people who are coming so that is how I know how many will be at the reception.

How do I handle the invitations? I have a wedding website through DestinationWeddings.com where people book their room but there really isn't an RSVP option on there so basically booking a room is your RSVP. However people do have the option to stay outside of the resort and still attend the wedding. So if someone was doing that how would they RSVP?

Should I send out invitations with cards to mail back (even to the people who booked the room)?

Should I setup another website just for people to RSVP online?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

I would also send out invites to people that are going to stay outside of where the wedding is....

Well yes I am planning to send invitations to everyone, even people who said they cannot come. My question was more of how to handle the RSVP.

Could put a rsvp card with the invites also and have them send them back to you.

You always send invitations and yes, you also send them to those who already booked rooms. You're having a destination wedding. You can spring for invites and actual RSVP cards. And FYI, you better hurry. You should be sending out your invites pretty soon.

I'm so confused. Why don't you just have an RSVP card?

The reason is because we invited around 150 people and I know for sure only about 20 are coming because I have spoken to everyone I invited so this is really just more of a formality. And again I never said I wasn't going to send invitations to everyone I was just asking about the RSVP. I think its a bit waste of a money to send out 150 rsvp cards with stamps when I know for sure they aren't coming. Sorry if all of you have money to blow like that LOL I don't
