Destination wedding...hair and make up trials?

Future Mrs. Petro, on June 14, 2018 at 9:20 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
I have been seeing a lot of posts from ppls' hair and makeup trials and I'm starting to freak out. I'm doing a destination wedding and I won't get that opportunity. What do I do to ensure I love the way I look on my wedding day?

Tons of online research. Look for someone who has photos of the style of hair and makeup you want AND of people with your complexion/hair type. I mean look at their website, wedding wire reviews, their Facebook profiles etc. Etc.
It's a DW wessing for me as well, but luckily I was able to afford a weekend trip to go to our DW and have a hair/makeup trial several months ago...and my research paid off because the girls are wonderful and now I have no worries!

I didn't have a trial before my DW and I think my hair and makeup turned out beautifully! I researched makeup artists local to our venue (stalked them on instagram and yelp, really) and found a HMUA I wanted to work with. I sent her a few photos that conveyed the natural makeup and soft updo look I wanted as well as a few photos of myself so she knew what she was working with ( I have really curly hair). I also brought with me the style of lashes that I knew would look good on me (which happened to be the same ones she would have used anyway!) I was really nervous not having a trial, but honestly, if you just get a mimosa in your hand everything will feel less nerve-wracking, good luck!

Me neither! I had DW. I looked at reviews, their website galleries, and brought pics the day of. Be ready to ask for adjustments if needed. Pretty much nailed the look I wanted.

Im having a DW in Mexico and will not have a trial. Honestly, as long as my makeup doesn’t make me look like a clown I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine.

Im not going to worry about it TBH.

Find a style that your HMUA has done based on the pics they have posted that you like. Have a trial at home with your regular stylist. That way you'll know what it looks like on you and you'll know that the same can be done at your DW.

I'm having a DW wedding and my MOH is doing my hair but I did to a trial with my stylist here where she gave my MOH pointers (it's a pretty easy style). So you could still do a hair trial prior have your girl (or guy) take pictures of what you like and bring those with you Smiley smile

I know someone who did thorough research selecting their HMUA for a destination wedding and then had the trial the same week. They arrived four days before the actual wedding and did the trial the next day in order to test out exactly what she wanted. You could possibly try that but regardless you have to do the legwork to find someone who you can trust will be good.
