Destination wedding floral question

Lynn, on July 22, 2024 at 6:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
I’m having a beach wedding in a very remote beach town. It’s very small and outdoors. I don’t want a lot of flowers. Just a bouquet and a boutonnière.
My question is, how does one do that? There’s no in town floral place. All are over an hour away. They will bring them to me but they need to be 10k or more, which isn’t going to happen.
Any ideas?

I’d probably go with fake flowers. You can order sone nice ones from Etsy, and you can bring them with you.

I agree with Hannah. There are some amazing vendors on Etsy that make bouquets and boutonnieres. I bought bouquets from Wedideas and SilkCoutoureFloral before I went shopping for my dress to get a feel of how colors would look with my outfit, and the other wedding party members. These shops both make boutonnieres as well, but SilkCoutureFloral made a magnetic boutonniere.

If you still want real flowers you can try the following:

You can always see if the town grocery store sells flowers and can make a small bouquet and boutonniere.

    Or

Go to a flower shop the day before your wedding to pick up your bouquet and boutonniere. Make sure that you have plenty of space in your personal fridge to put the bouquet in a standing position, as well as the boutonniere. If you go the day of your wedding, make sure you have plenty of time to make the commute and still put your flowers in the fridge before you are ready to take your vows.

Faux flowers are obviously an option, as others have mentioned. However, if you would like to carry real flowers, I would arrange to pick them up from one of the floral shops an hour away the day before. The florist can instruct you on how to keep them overnight. Typically they can just be kept in water, or placed in a refrigerator overnight.
