Tiffany , on December 14, 2019 at 11:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
We’re getting married in Las Vegas in March. For others who did destination, how did you pack your dress?!? I’m still wearing a regular wedding gown and just looking for tips on how to travel

Check with your airline- many will allow you to hang your dress in the captains closet

I brought my dress onto the plane as my carry on. The flight attendants were nice enough to let me hang it in first class when I explained it was my wedding dress. If there isn’t a closet you’ll have to lay it in the overhead bin so maybe call ahead to ask. I recommend bringing a steamer if your dress material is prone to wrinkles.

I’m getting married in Vegas and carrying the dress on the plane. I’ll hold it myself if needed. It’s only a 50 minute flight for. So it shouldn’t be a big deal foe us.

This was years ago and a previous marriage, but I called ahead and was told I couldn’t hang it up on the plane. The dress had a very structured bodice and I was worried it would get crushed if I laid it in the overhead bin. I opted to place it into a carry on bag by itself, folded into thirds. I carried it on so it didn’t get lost during transfer. I hung the dress as soon we I got to the hotel and it didn’t need steaming and travelled quite well. Of course, if they’ll let you hang the dress in the closet that would be ideal.
