Destination Brides - need some insight on your dresses!

Jessica, on January 17, 2020 at 3:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Hey ladies! We’re getting hitched in Runaway Bay, Jamaica next spring. I’m starting to look at dresses and such and absolutely adore sheer long sleeves. My mother and grandmother both worse that style so naturally me being as sentimental as I am, would love to keep the tradition. I’m worried it will be too hot. Now I understand duhhhh it’s Jamaica it’s going to be hot. Just would like a little insight on any ladies that got married in tropical weather and what you wore and how you felt.

Thanks!!

I am wearing an A line tulle dress for my Hawaii wedding. My biggest concern was bringing it on the plane so I didn't want a big ballgown. I know it's going to be fairly nice weather, and it's coming up soon! In 40 days I'll be able to tell you how it felt!

Yay thank you! Do you have a picture of it (or a similar one) that you would be willing to share?

I’m decided between these two. Leaning towards the last dress that turns into a jumpsuit. I like another dress but it wouldn’t give me enough support for the boobs. I’m getting married in Negril, Jamaica.

I was not the bride, but I attended a wedding in Jamaica in the spring. It was about 90° out. I was in a paper thin sleeveless summer dress, and I was ROASTING. I’m sure people‘s comfort levels in the heat differ a lot from person to person though. The average temperature inside a tanning bed is 90° - 100° so maybe think about whether you would be comfortable wearing the dress inside a tanning bed

What if u wear the long sleeve dress for the ceremony and then switch into something more comfortable/beachy for the reception? Then u will only have to roast during the ceremony! Which probably wont be too long, eh? Smiley smile

That’s definitely a good option. I even thought about finding a dress with a removable skirt. Might be hard to find long sleeve with short but who knows!

That's a good idea too! I didnt think of making it shorter but I bet removing some of the length would definitely help! I personally dont do well with the heat so I dont think I could deal with long sleeves ALL DAY! I hope u figure out something that works for u!

Hello there I'm getting married in Riviera Maya Mx, in June I know it's going to be fairly hot but that didn't stop me from getting my dream dress. We did make sure that it would be closer to the evening but as well it is right up against the ocean and its covered so we will have shade and a light breeze 😊Destination Brides - need some insight on your dresses! 5
