We’re having a mix of both- a 2-layer cutting cake in addition to a dessert buffet (cupcakes, donuts, pastries, cookies). I have a huge sweet tooth and wanted plenty of options.

I'm wondering about colors are modern on a traditional 3 tier cake. I'm always worried that it won't look like a wedding cake, I don't want it to look like a birthday cake.

My FH LOVES chocolate but I HATE chocolate! So our compromise is having a small vanilla cake for cutting/picture purposes but then chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for everyone as dessert!

Modern! FH and i both dislike cake, and used to always make key lime pie when we were dating. I think mini key lime pies would be a personal touch and a way to incorporate our story!

Modern: our cake will be 3 layers of stacked bundt cake. Not sure on the flavors yet. Leaning toward summer fruit flavors like pineapple upside down cake, strawberry shortcake and lemon blueberry cake.

We are having a 4 tiered cake and cupcakes! We wanted to keep it traditional for the most part so cupcakes were a good compromise!

We went semi-traditional for the wedding with a cake and cupcakes. For our vow renewal, we are having cheesecake which was supposed to our original plan but that didn't seem to an option back then.

My best friend and I make cakes so I definitely want to do a tiered cake for our wedding, but FH hates cake so we'll probably also do a variety of cookies. Since we are looking at a campground, I also think s'mores would be perfect, even if they are trendy.
