So ladies I am at a total loss as what to do on my wedding day as far as deodorant/antiperspirant. I am not going to lie I sweat A LOT, I have tried multiple types of degree, suave, dove, toms (which is all natural, I sweat it off in no time) and many others that I can't even remember. I am getting really tired of buying something that doesn't work and I don't want to have sweat stains on my dress Smiley sad I need help! I thought about trying the extra strength deodorant for women I don't even remember what brand it is, have you used it before? I also thought about trying men's deodorant, I know a few women who use it and I was hoping that it would be stronger and it would help but I don't want to walk around smelling like a man on my wedding day!! My only other option would be Dr. prescribed deodorant, which I am assuming doesn't smell to pleasant, and I really don't have the money for it Smiley sad

Any advice, suggestions, or just any info at all would be a HUGE help Smiley smile Thanks!!

If it's smelling like BO you're worried about than make sure it's a deodorant and not just an antiperspirant. The antiperspirant is aimed at making you sweat less rather than covering up smells. You could do a guy's deodorant and just wear a nice girly perfume?

I tried Certain Dri and I had a terrible reaction to it. I broke out in a painful rash that didn't go away for a few days (obviously I only used it once). It was such a shame though, I wish it would have worked. I now make sure I was under my arms every night with an antibacterial soap, then I use Secret Clinical Strength before bed, and put regular deoderant in the morning.

I've definitely thought about getting Botox, but I'm sure it isn't cheap and apparently it is really painful, but I think it would be worth it before the wedding.

I have weird deodorant allergies and will often get a rash. Arm & Hammer is the only brand I've found that works for me and doesn't leave me with a rash. I dread the day they discontinue it and I'm left to be deodorant-less the rest of my life. I won't lie, I buy it in bulk and hoard it!

If you do use the Certain Dri don't use it right after shaving your pits.

Have you tried Mitchum (sp?)? It's really strong. I use it on acting gigs when it's going to be extremely hot (like faire) with great results!

I, too, sweat like crazy. The only things that work really well for me are either SweatShield or SweatBlock. I find that SweatShield is much more gentle on my skin but it doesn't last as long as the SweatBlock. I tried Certain Dri but it didn't work for me, unfortunately.

With either of these products, you use them at night, before you go to bed. You just make sure your armpits are clean and dry. Apply to each underarm and then go to bed. It works overnight to block your sweat glands. You can even use a deodorant (not antiperspirant), if you'd like.

I use the Secret Clinical Strength sport scent. It works even better if you put it on the night before, like a previous poster said.

Believe it or not Germ-X! Just dab a little under your arms after you shower, let it dry and apply deodorant. A little secret I learned from watching Dancing with the Stars.

Theor behind it is that bacteria makes you smell, Germ-X kills bacteria so no smell. Don't know if its true but it works for me.

Moknits- I started laughing because every time there is a sale we buy a months worth of arm and hammer to stock up. I have tried all kinds of things and its been the best for me. I tend to have reactions to other brands.

I definitely recommend Certain Dri as well. I used to sweat a lot no matter how much/ what kind of deodorant I used...I used Certain Dri every night for a couple months and I haven't had a problem since. I sometimes use it in the summer just because it's hot and I want to be sure not to have any embarassing marks. Just don't use it right after you shave.

I suggest Certain Dri or Mitchem not only are they great brands they are also 2 of 3 anti antiperspirants not tested on animals.

@Whitney L.: Yes, you put Certain Dri on at night, then wash it off in your morning shower. Essentially, what happens is that it closes down the pores, and that effect lasts for up to 48 hours after it is washed off. With the pores closed down, you don't sweat, so there are no odors to cover up.

Go with the Secret or Dove Clinical Strength deoderant. I had a major issue with sweating until I started using the secret clinical strength deorderant. It was the best thing that happened to my life.

When i was in hs i had anxiety and i had this problem, it was a really vicious circle lol, and i finally found Certain Dri which was a life saver, i've worked through my issues and don't need it anymore but i probably will use it in the weeks leading up to my wedding if i rememberjust to be safe.

the best thing about it was i could also use my own scented deodorant too and they actually recommend that.

I know that this thread is really late, but I wanted to fifth (Carrie mentioned it first) about using Certain Dri. I have been excessive sweating for 8 years now. Ever since high school. And mu friends used to hate touching or even being too close to me because I was always soaking wet from uncontrollable sweat. It was not pretty. A friend of mine recommended me Certain Dri and then I went online at Walmart and noticed a lot of great reviews about this product. For my wedding, I made sure that I applied it at night when I wasn't sweaty and completely dry. The next day during the ceremony, it went flawlessly. Not a drop of sweat from my armpits because that would have been really embarrassing. Any ladies that are reading this, a tip would be to make sure that you are choosing the right concentration of aluminum. Not all products are the same and you need to make sure you choose the right one that fits your hyperhidrosis. Don't just choose the highest one because you think your is out of control, I did that and I broke out in a skin irradiation, which my own fault because I didn't start with the lowest concentration first. Always do your research before you choose any type of hyperhidrosis treatment. Check out the different ones that they have here. https://www.certaindri.com/content/15-products
