Delete account from the knot

Hey all! I have had a very negative experience with the knot and I'm now trying to delete my account from there. On their website they give you these instructions to delete your account:

If you'd like to delete your membership account with us, just email us at *************@*******.*** with the subject line "Delete My Membership." We’ll take care of it within 72 hours.

I have emailed them with no reply. Has anybody else tried to delete their account from the knot and if so, did it get deleted? Thanks!

    I haven't but maybe it will take awhile for a reply. They might reply back once they delete it. I hope you like it here! Smiley smile

    I posted something in one of their forums and the comments were absolutely horrible. I understand not everybody will agree with your ideas, but I felt like they attacked me more than the actual idea. I've never seen such rude comments in my life honestly.

    I used it before I found WW. I only posted on the forum over there once or twice, and it was ok. But, the response time on that site sucks! So glad I found WW!

    I go on there from time to time to read some of the threads, and the responses/comments are HORRIBLE! Manners over there are just non-existent!!

    I was just complaining about the knot on my wedding blog FB page lol.... I like the page for info but I find some of the ladies there quiet rude personally. My blood boils almost everytime I go over there. I like WW much better personally. It has more a family atmosphere here.

    I agree. I really didn't expect that type of feedback from the knot. They acted as if I was committing a horrible crime. Everybody here has been great so far. I posted a similar question to the one I posted on the knot on here and the comments were great.

    Since we are on the topic of deleting accounts I need mine deleted. I know that I need to email support@weddingwire.com. However, this account was created back in 2010 under an email I no longer have access to, and I never got married. How do I delete this account and keep my current one (I am planning to get married in July)? I tried doing it a few weeks ago, but my other (new account) got deleted instead of this account.

    @Anna, I would still email support and give them your old email address and ask them to delete THAT account. If you already did this and they deleted the wrong account, try emailing Leeor directly about it, she can probably help get the correct one deleted. She's leeor@weddingwire.com.

    I don't think your forum threads get deleted but your name won't post with them. I would delete them now if you want them deleted. Also, be sure to consider the source if you were attacked on the forums, I think they have a heavy population of trolls! I deleted my account on there too! Maybe email them again.

    I want to delete the post now, but I don't think I can. On the website it says once people have commented on it you aren't able to delete it. It let me edit my original post so I erased the whole thing, but its still on there with all the comments people had made. I agree with you about the heavy population of trolls. I just don't understand why some people would be so mean. I understand everybody may not agree with an idea, but don't attack the person!

    The knot did email me back, but they said it would take 3-5 business days

    for it to be completely removed from the site. I hope the one and only post I made goes with the removal!

    I tried to delete it before because if someone googles our names together a non existent registry comes up from the knot. It wouldnt delete so I just went through and changed our names to jane and john smith...so hopefully it will delete our old names :-)

    I used The Knot for their Seating Chart, it was much more user friendly I thought than the one here. But, that is all I have used it for, everything else has been through Wedding Wire.
