Hey all! I have had a very negative experience with the knot and I'm now trying to delete my account from there. On their website they give you these instructions to delete your account:

If you'd like to delete your membership account with us, just email us at *************@*******.*** with the subject line "Delete My Membership." We’ll take care of it within 72 hours.

I have emailed them with no reply. Has anybody else tried to delete their account from the knot and if so, did it get deleted? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue with a post I put on the KNOT. I can't believe how rude people are. There's no need for it!! So brutal!! Smiley sad I'm just trying to figure out how to delete my account now.

Brutal is almost an understatement! They deleted my account, but my post is still there. I've always had great experiences with Wedding Wire though Smiley smile

I totally agree! I 'xx'd' out my post but someone had copied it into their comment but it's still there. I'm so annoyed that people can be like that. I posted a link to a video from our wedding three weeks ago...it was a group of young students that sang 'Chapel of Love' at our ceremony but kind of like a flashmob. The comments on the Knot were so harsh. For me it was such a memorable moment & the kids worked so hard for many months. I just want to scream at the negative people out there!!

Seriously. It is also my observation that The Knot is overrun by biznatches. Why is that?

I've had the same experience! I feel like the site is full of bridezillas wanting to rip someone's head off! I want to delete a thread I started for that reason but can't figure out how. Ugh.

I tried to delete mine too but I couldn't ever find a way to do it. I really think that's all they do with their lives. I flagged all the really mean things they said and that really made them mad.

Hi ladies! I know this was posted a long time ago so I'm not sure if anyone will see this but I had a very negative experience with the knot as well. I posted something in one of their forums and the women on there were literally bullying me.

Of course, they didn't think it was bullying at all. I'm still pretty upset and quite frankly I just want a lawyer to look at those posts. They have to be breaking some anti harassment laws!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if they delete your discussion board posts as well when they delete your account. I'm so upset that I don't even want to see the discussion board post again!

    Have a great day ladies!

**SoonToBeMRS**, I saw it. I feel the same way. The regulars on The Knot are horrible people. If anyone says anything they don't like the claws come out. I think they make up their own rules for everything, including some etiquette. I understand that it is about treating our guests right but they don't want to hear that not everyone feels the same way about everything. For example, a cash bar. It is considered wrong but some families are accustomed to attending weddings with them. In the upper midwest it is more readily accepted than other places. Those people don't want to hear that. They are such stuck up snobs and expect to have everything they want given to them free of charge.

I am the first to admit that my wedding is a "train wreck" in the making. I seem to be breaking every etiquette rule possible but it is stuff that my guests are used to, expect or are fine with. My FH has actually banned me from The Knot because I keep telling him how everything we are doing is against their etiquette and I feel bad about what we are doing because of it. The only thing I go on The Knot for is our website since I had made that one first and our guests are aware of that one and not the one I made here.

I wish you the best on washing your hands of the filth of The Knot.

I recently tried starting a discussion on The Knot and immediately got 3 or 4 responses back in a matter of minutes! Do these women just sit around all day on that site and wait for new discussions to complain in?!

I completely understand that everyone has their own opinions and thoughts, but telling someone else that their ideas are "stupid", "rude" or "not the right way to do it" is just completely unnecessary and terrible! I came away from that site feeling horrible and emailed The Knot, asking to get the discussion taken down.

People on there seem like they want to force their thoughts and opinions onto everyone else and have no clue as to how rude and condescending the come across as!

    Goodbye The Knot Forums!
