Decorations at my wedding...

Licia, on October 30, 2021 at 2:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 16
I'm planning the wedding on my own. I think my colors are purple and white, june wedding. I was not thinking of decorating anything. But to add a little something what can I do that will make it special but simple? Hotel is providing me with white table cloths. I can't put anything on doors or walls.
Maybe do something on reception tables? Any quick ideas??

I'm a candle lover. Maybe you can do some floating candles. When I was helping my cousin plan her wedding we went to the dollar tree to get a few vase & put floating candles in it that we ordered from Amazon. That didn't cost much at all. Or maybe just a simple vase with some cute inexpensive flowers of some sort.

Balloons, especially heart-shaped (but white or purple balloons instead of red)

Or greenery, similar to these: even though green is not one of your wedding colors, greenery is perfect for late spring, summer and early september weddings

I would go with balloons and coloured napkins as well - it would provide colour and would be easy to do Smiley smile

Floating candles, cylinder vases, and mirrors are my go to for minimalistic floral centerpieces. You can even submerge flowers in the vases with the floating candles on top. I think submerged orchids would go perfectly with your colors! Just attach some fishing weight or heavy washers with some fishing line to the stem and let the rocks hold the weight down. This is what I’m doing. Most of the items on here are from Dollar Tree. The mirrors are from Jo-Ann’s for $5. The taller cylinder vases are from Walmart, I think also $5. The flowers and eucalyptus stems were fake from Amazon, but I plan on using real ones. WholesaleGarlands has cheap stem bunches. You may also be able to find them at Costco and Sam’s Club. DIY florals are definitely cheaper from Costco, Sam’s, or your local grocery store than a florist.

I also wanted very little decorations; I went with Lings Moment flowers from Amazon in Mason jars I already owned, wrapped in strips of chiffon I cut from an old skirt. The petals and fake candles I added kind of last minute but I'm glad I did.

Some simple up lighting can really elevate the look of a space when you can't hang anything or put anything on walls.
