Decorating our wedding cake myself

Oh my gosh so cute!!! You are way more talented than me! I love it! It sounds like you are super on track, too! Having a practice round is so important and you smashed it out of the park!

How tall, how wide on top?
I really hate the plasticky Fondant on most wedding cakes, and think the frosting is charming. That looks tall enough to be hard to slice and serve neatly. ... I find for a home baked layer cake for 10 plus, a rectangle, or log cake in 2-4 layers, can be cut down the middle lengthwise, then sliced side edge to middle. Very easy to serve. A neat wedge from a multilayer round cake is much harder, if you do not do it regularly.

You did a nice job.

Perhaps a little bit more of the light brown color on the sides of the cakes, to look more like wood. Currently there’s a lot of white on the sides.
